Drove the car a little more yesterday since the weather turned nicer and sunny around 1PM and hit about 62 degrees.
The car itself is still amazing to me when compared to other Mustangs I have driven or rode in. The tightness yet smooth ride is non-mustang like in my opinion. I have been able to push it much and frankly I'm a little hesitant as I do not know this vehicle yet, but that will change soon.
I am still getting used to the power delivery of the Whipple. I did push the pedal a little harder during yesterdays drive. In 1st & 2nd I still kept the pedal to about half'ish winding up to about 5k RPM. I did do the same in third but did mash the go fast pedal all the way once or twice.
Again I am getting used to this set up but something that I noticed now a few times is a bit of hesitancy in the power application. When at half throttle I felt a quick half second where the power fell off but came right back. This happened many times and not just at half throttle, almost like I let off the pedal and came back into it but I didnt.
I did not notice it when I went full smash though.

The whipple tune is well overstated on its power numbers for sure. My old ride had 600 whp. My wife in the car yesterday said "it doesnt feel any different than the old one" - I said "yeah I think youre right". Now thats just the old butt dyno, but I know what 600 wheel feels like and so does she, this is absolutely not 700-750 whp - no way no how.
how does it sound! Lol I bet sounds badass.

Btw How many miles does your car have?
as far as drivebility I have heard the whipple tune is great (although power is conservative). Could it be possible you need more miles for the computer to learn and make adjustments?

Only 200 so far.
I didnt realize I didn't post the exhaust in this thread. I cant seem to figure out how to do it either. The clips I have are from an iPhone and they dont post through the android

The car is amazing! It accelerates so quickly its hard to explain. I am getting used to the slight delay in power. The power starts to throw in the seat at about 3500 rpm. Below that I can drive like its not boosted. Can literally feel the blower begin to boost. Pedal is consistent from 2000 to 3500 then power is explosive.
As you know it already handles like a beast.
I feel extremely confident in the abilities of this monster

What plans do you have?

I really thought the Whipple would be more like the Roush I had previously, although similar, not the same.
Could be because I havent tached past 5500-6000 yet either. The Roush was 2.3 liter and had more boost down low at 2k.
I saw someone post someplace that there is a bypass valve on the Whipple that keeps the boost off before that 3500 range.
I kinda like it like this though. If I get it tuned I may want to retain that for easy driveability.
@2022 Mach 1 - have you noticed a similar experience?

Awesome I think I’m ok with that slight lag for a daily specially. what I really want to do is the sound tube mod because I want to hear that supercharger scream lol.

My plans are to go stage 1 only with the whipple warranty since this is my daily driver. (I haven’t been looking into any supporting mods yet but probably will have to do some rear end (oil pump gears should be fine with stage 1)

Waiting to see if it’s carb approved for 22-23 M1s(it was in process last time I checked).

how many miles do you have btw? Glad you enjoying her.

Around town I rarely push the boost but yes whipple has a bypass valve to keep thing more streetable.

So if been down the 1/4 a few times now all at a no prep racing events. So far my best is 11.@136 on a 2.03 60ft rolling into the go pedal. I icked up 38 mpg on the top end. That is on the ps4s 275s thay come stock on the non HP.

I have just finished the install of the stop the hop basic drag package and 3 boxes from lmr just arrived which I will assume is the drag pack I ordered.

I am getting ready for the MM&FF event that we host yearly in Nor Cal where I expect to go 10.5 or quicker due to the previous MPH.

I'm sure you guys may have questions feel free to ask.

Only 400, thats why Im keeping it under 5500 rpm.
The pulley is too large to hear it at all. Maybe the tube will help.
You should upgrade the bushings in the rear to mitigate any wheel hop

Sounds good I’ll look into bushings. Thanks

btw there is a video in YouTube someone with a stage 2 does the sound tube mod and it absolutely screams (I am sure you can add insulation to tube if it’s too loud but I would go loudest possible)

2.03, UGH! And rolling no less. Plant the rear, and stickier+wider tires needed.

It is a nice "streetable feature" not having 500+ lb/ft at 2000 rpm. Nice little drivable rpm range for sure and the boost is never far away if needed

Yeah im sure the stop the hop and the 305/45/17 MT Street Rs will get me the low 10s on the prepped track surface. Talking with my local tuner 900 rwhp should be easy to obtain on e85 and low 9s a that point.

The car turned 721 to the wheels a 7780 rpm two weeks ago.

Wow! Was that the whipple tune?
Yes. On 100 octane. Not gonna chance it on our crappy 91 here. The car kept adding timing all the way to redline. I'm fuel or redline limited on power at this point on the whipple tune. That's also through the stock cats.
