You're reading tone that's not there my friend. There's a huge difference in lighting between the pictures and it's a 'poor' comparison between the three colors. I'm available for a group hug if needed. Yes, that one is better. :)
I’m just busting chops Rob. Your pics are differently better.:fistbump:

I don't think I've ever heard anyone call a Grabber color "bland".
Ok maybe bland was not the word I should of used in this statement. I was hoping that Ford would offer the color Velocity Blue.

Obviously ones personal liking to a color is subjective, but when I hear "bland" used to describe a paint I think they are trying to saying, the color is..... just the color, its not dynamic. It doesn't have metallic, or chameleon like properties that change its appearance in different lighting conditions.

Look at the warmer soft glow the VB gives off in direct sunlight. Additionally VB has flake in it, so to me it will always have a better aesthetic to it. I've seen some paints with a lot of large flake, and when taken care of, they can give off the appearance of giving the paint "depth", Like the paint looks wet or, that you could dip your hand in to it.

So for me I like paints with a lot of metallic flake in them. For the last few years there has been a trend of manufacturers putting out grabber blue like colors which really don't change a whole lot, I can understand "bland" being applied to them, bland in the sense that they don't display a range of color effect in different conditions, at least relative to metallic paints of the similar colors.

Deep Impact Blue, paint looks wet and deep.

Look how the paints picks up the sunlight and diffuses it , creating nice subtle contrasting around the panel, notice small flake in there too.

My old Audi S5 in Estoril Blue Crystal
That beautiful body line by the rear tail lights, that slight change in angle totally changes how the color displays with the sun hitting it. Dynamic interesting to look at color. Aesthetically that car is a work of rolling art, Walter De Silva nailed that car!

My first S197 in Sterling Grey Metallic
Even in a more subtle color like grey or silver, metallic flake can really give you some nice contrasts. Zoom into the pic and see what I mean.

And Grabber Blue Metallic….

That M/E example of Grabber looks like it was painted with a melted crayon.

Anyone else with the shadow black notice a small hint of dark blue metallic in the color? Maybe mine got sprayed wrong? Noticing it yesterday in the sun.

Same here. I only notice it when up close and in bright direct sunlight.
Shadow Black has a light dusting of blue metallic flake in it. Gives it some depth compared to just an absolute Black. Kinda like a shadow in low moon light has a blue hue to it hence the name shadow black.

Actually this is now called Mischievous Purple Metallic. Not a great photo so we will need more to getting a better idea of what it really looks like.
Ahh didn't know they had changed the name

I’m not ordinarily a fan of purple but I think it’s going to look sharp with the Mach 1 vinyls and HP wheels.

I still think it might look like a repainted car, cool to look at but long term I am not so sure

And if something has to re-sprayed…. The color matching on that, ohh my
