Ordered 11/24/21 -- built 1/10/22 -- at dealership 1/21/22 -- in my driveway 1/22/22....

Might or might not be the first 2022 Grabber Blue Metallic built? Is there a way to find out production numbers that are this specific? Doesn't really matter, just curious.

Anyway, the car is here. We call him COOKIE MONSTER. 2022 GT base 6spd w/ Black Accent Package, 301A, Safe & Smart package. That's it. 4k in options. Not a ridiculously overloaded optioned-up car. Don't need a second mortgage for it. Pure fun and smiles so far!

any visual cues to distinguish the 22 form a 21?
Not that I'm aware of/noticed yet.... Hoping no differences, because if there are it'll be a weird oddball year, since 2022 is the last of the S550's.

Very nice. Unique the way you optioned it. Hard to tell from the pics but is there metallic flake in the paint? Or is pretty much solid blue like the earlier year grabber blue?

There is metallic flake in it, but it's only visible in bright direct sunlight. I was worried it'd be too metallic, but it's not. Looks good, but also unique to 2022 models!

There’s no production counts yet, being it’s too early in the run.

Open your drivers door, look at the large VCL and you will see the prosecution month/year at top left corner. Also your window sticker will have the complete date on it. That’s all you have to go on until production counts are tallied.

Fatnastic! Thanks for posting!! Some of my friends used to call my no longer owned '03 Mach 1 in Azure Blue "Cookie Monster" too. You definiely are embracing the name with your actual Cookie Monster in the car :-) Enjoy!

Congrats on your new GT Zero. The GB is a fantastic color and the Black Accent Group really sets it apart. Plan on doing any PPF/ceramic to protect it?

Great car, great colour!

The only other '22 in Grabber Blue I've seen was this one.............possibly pre-production as Mike Levine from Ford posted it in Instagram

Looks like a euro spec, clear tail lights, those big hideous euro side mirrors, and the steering wheel on the wrong side.

Looks amazing! I can’t wait for mine to get in! I think it’s strange they waited until the last year of the S550 to bring this back but hey, Ford marketing 🤷‍♂️

Ford didn't bring it back, it's a different color than the 2017 version. From 1969 until 2017 it was a solid color, no metallic. The new version, also used on the mach E is now called grabber blue metallic. The paint code also changed, it is CI on my 17, don't know what the new code is. I wouldn't be surprised if the new GB metallic has the same paint code as the nitrous blue used on the focus RS as it was a metallic also and looks identical to grabber blue until you get close enough to see the flake in it.
