Sounds like 2021 could be a mid-cycle refresh for the S550. I know exterior this will mean very little if anything for the GT500 as we have the older style headlights and it's own from and rear end.

Do you think the 2021 GT500 would get any of the updates/upgrades on the interior with the refresh if it happens? I heard maybe a larger head unit?

What do you guys think?

I would expect it to be like the ZL1, essentially no change. It would be a poor choice by Ford to give the 2021+ models a bigger screen/large interior changes. Almost screwing over your early adopters. I expect the lower (automatic) trims to get the GT500 interior upgrades with the dial shift and electronic parking brake.

Similar to the GT350 2019 refresh - just a few little changes to the GT500 at most. Probably nothing big.

The rear end sheetmetal is the same on all S550 platform Mustangs, it's only the front hood/fender/fascia where changes are made (I mean, like the lower rear valance is different, but that's just a plastic stick on component ...)

Anyway, I don't think the interior can be gyrated enough (or that there are any plans) to accomodate what they're talking about for the huge Sync 4 displays, I think that's a total interior redesign, we won't see until the new car makes an appearance (and shit, I just want a dedicated, physical switch for the heated wheel ...). Like someone mentioned, I suspect like the GT350, the ZL1, the GT500 will remain unchanged through what's essentially another facelift - though I'm thinking (sorry, a bit off topic) if the GT350 leaves the lineup for '21, we'll see a new engine option (that's what's being discussed in the Mach I thread).

Interesting point about the DCT and A10 sharing the same console/dial shifter, would not be surprised, though it may remain as is just to create a little more difference since the interior is essentially the same.

The changes I would want made as options for buyers in 2021 is a few color choices for the brembos, and either make some color options for the recaros or just straight black. Also an option is red seat belts with the recaro variant.

The 2020 is a refresh in itself, so no changes needed and still meets the statement

More like a late model refresh. I don’t expect anything too earth shattering, some minor cosmetic changes, color options, etc.

If you look at the a/c vents in this photo, you'll see they appear slightly different to the current ones. Is almost as if their not sitting as flush as the current ones. It also looks as if the dash panel their attached to carries the circular theme......not quite as obvious as the Audi TT here, but along those lines. If they are changing the vents slightly, that tells me there's likely changes elsewhere, including to the 8" screen.

Of course, there's no guarantee these changes would be seen in the GT500.

This was the most recent "'21MY refresh" prototype spotted just over a week ago.

Just to add........there was black camo over the dash of the prototype, as seen here, so clearly they're hiding something.
