The Ford bashing is ENTIRELY justified in how they are failing to handle the situation. Not a single official announcement. Not a single communique laying out the compensation to holders of VINs no less, or other remedies.
On this I agree with you. I'm telling you though it's the damn lawyers. If they admit the issue they become libel for it. Lawsuits are not good for a balance sheet.

Inflation is a helluva drug...
you haven't seen anything yet :cwl: whats coming with all of this money printing and debt this country has taken on..........its going to be extremely painful.

It feels like just yesterday I was starting my first full time job, signing on the dotted line for my first car, and swearing to myself I would never pay more than ~$60K for any car, no matter how much money I made lol.
i think my 01 mustang stickered for $26k, right around there at least. and i remember seeing the sticker on the 01 cobra and thinking it was such a stretch to spend enough to buy one of those. i would have had you committed if you told me then that i would have paid $60k for a mustang 20 years later.

This car is more than I ever wanted to pay for a Mustang, and really more than anyone should pay for any car if we're being honest with ourselves... but as I was trying to get at in my last post, I'm still not sure there's anything better you can buy for much less money. And that's where Ford has us by the balls.
they definitely do. when i think about mustang issues that bother me i consider what i would buy instead. there's nothing. i would love a v8 powered audi coupe that had a manual trans. but that doesn't exist, and if it did, it wouldn't be $60k. i think the challenger is cool but not as cool as the mustang. there just isnt a competitor for the mustang unfortunately. $60k is just what it takes to get one of these cars now.

Why would it need to be 5% higher? That’s a dealership choice unless the MSRP is going up.
nobody wants to suffer margin compression. They are there to protect their own ass, not be nicey-nice to the consumer buying their product. If they lose some sales due to 5% price hike, meh. Well until enough consumers say 'stick it up your a&&' and walk. Then the supplier will find religion and eat it. But they can eat only so much before they have to revisit their own headcount and footprint. If their net margin is 10% and they have to eat half they're not going out of business any time soon. But when their profits dive they'll get killed in the casino known as the public stock market and future business expansion and other aspects that were relying on those funds has to be cancelled or curtailed.

The pebble has been dropped into the pond. The ripples/waves are gonna be epic.

1000+ v8 cars might tip the C.A.F.E. too much. needing to produce more 4's and v6 vehicles to offset the v8's.
It wasn't a chip issue
Exactly.

Yep... hold onto your butts and all that. Although we've had these fears before, and they ended up being overblown. One has to think at some point, shit will hit the fan, though.

Either way, Bitcoin FTW!

Maybe, just maybe, it is because it's tiring to read all the posts about how Ford did this and Ford did that. People literally making things up in an attempt to rationalize why this has happened.

That s what happens when (Ford) no one comes forth with information, stuff get assumed and made up. Easy solution Ford, SAY SOMETHING.
If they are liable for the truth then maybe they are at fault? Just saying.

based on an earlier quote, that Ford may have met it's production goal for Mach 1s, I find it extremely insulting that they couldn't finish out the last 1,000whatever orders for 2021 M1s.

What's 1,000ish chips? They're making forty THOUSAND plus F150s each month.

They couldn't cut a measly one day's production to finish out M1 cars with those chips?

I'm with you on this it's truly a bunch of BS - and the fanboy on here sucking Fords DoDo should be ashamed of himself, he knows who he is - shame, shame, shame...

Honestly, I don't really think it matters why the cars are delayed/cancelled, other than satisfying our curiosity.

The real issue is what Ford is going to do about the cancelled cars. Are they going to lock in MY '21 prices? Move people to the front of the queue? Offer '21 colors in '22?

I don't feel like these are hard questions to answer (well, maybe the paint), and they've had well over a month to answer them. To me, the question boils down to- do you want to F- over your customer base. And you think it's an easy answer, but the longer they take, the more attractive a Corvette/Supra/whatever appears.

It's funny you mentioned waiting can make other cars attractive as I am seriously considering a C8 z06. What's another year?....lol

I think it you haven't already placed an order the Z06 wait times are like 2-3 years, at least from what I've been following.

I want one as well, but I'm way too poor to spend that kind of coin. I'm hoping in 5 years I can find a babied one for a decent discount, but with how low production numbers have been who knows

No doubt. Timing is everything and you are right unless someone backs out of an order. I figured if I wait and save up maybe I can afford it after rebates.....lol.

It's going to be one Hella of a ride!

I’m not reordering my cancelled 21 order. I really wanted the Mach 1 I ordered but Ford kind of pissed me off. I searched locally(within 500miles) but couldn’t find anything that wasn’t 5-10k over sticker. I also looked for a GT500 at msrp but that wasn’t happening either. I ended up finding a local
Chevy dealer with an allocation for a 2022 ZL1 which I know will take some waiting but it’s now winter so I do t mind waiting several
Months.
