21' F150, 21' Mustang GT
Fucking sucks for every one of you guys. Ford should stop building all the ecoboost and gt cars and prioritize only Mach 1’s and shelbys until the last day. Those can wait until next year.
Despite the price delta from the Ecoboost/GT to the Mach1/Shelby, the latter does not pay the bills. Ford is a volume producer, and as such its a "nice to have" specialty line coming from them, but at the end of the day, if they cut both of those totally out of production, it would not have a genuine impact to their bottom line. The F150s, the Rangers, the Escapes, the Explorers, the Ecosport, those are the profit margin for Ford, that is what keeps the lights on, when you get into the entire Mustang line, it is a bigger liability for Ford, because these cars for the most part are expected to be "perfect" and if they are not people will complain. Here's a recent scenario I was in, my 2021 GT had scratches under the clear when it arrive, it had to go back in and Ford had to pay the local dealer to fix it....now if these micro scratches under the clear were on the roof of my 2021 F150, I would have let it go, its a daily driver, its gonna go through car washes, its going to end up with micro scratches, but the fact that my GT is garage stored, hand washed and only driven on nice days, I am going to expect more from Ford on it, as do most Mustang owners. At the end of the day, we are at the mercy of what they want to produce, and Ford has stock holders that will hold them accountable for not optimizing profit over the wants of subset of buyers.

I really hate it for all the people who have been waiting for their cars. I ordered my 22 M1, last Friday and my dealers exact words were "You might get it by May". With 22 being a split year for the new model year , Im not sure if it will get produced in time.

I agree with @DrumReaper , the market is going to see another spike in used Mustang prices.
There’s too many shipping containers sitting at ports and not enough worker bees to unload them.

Supply goes down… Prices go up. Simple supply vs demand. Sad that “America” is so torn apart by politics and scare tactics that the auto industry has to suffer for it.

I’m in the same boat, but from a different perspective… I was hoping to order my Ford Lightning for my business in October/November but that’s not happening either.

Exactly… why do you think Ford stopped sedan sales and concentrated on trucks/SUVs? Volume baby!

We all have 2 choices in life.

LIVE in a world of POSSIBILITIES?
LIVE in a world of Expectations?

Which 1 you live in is a choice you make.

If you do not know the difference between living among your 2 choices, and you would like to grow as a participant in 'humanity, culture, wealth, and happiness',
(aka to the list directly above : quality of life).

Consider learning the 2 different choices you have as to how to live both short and long term while taking in nourishment & oxygen daily.

In conclusion...So yes.... LOW PRODUCTION #'S are a category of 'Possibilities' thinkers,

and being angry to those who point it out are the crowd choice of 'Expectations'.

Still don't get this thesis based in Reality?
U Likely never will. & that's ok. Just be prepared for disappointment after disappointment thru put your lifetime.

Thats really the only price you'll pay.
Its not as much a fiscal hurdle as an emotional 1.

I understand. I was suggesting that more from the perspective of someone that has friends on here desperately waiting for their Mach 1’s. I’m not a Ford stock holder so all I care about is my friends getting their cars. :)

Just wondering. If I have to switch to a ‘22, I am sure Ford will have a price increase. Also, how easy is to fix the 10 hp deficit. Retrofit with ‘21 parts?

I think Ford handled this very poorly. These orders shouldn't be cancelled. They should be moved to 2022's if the customer wishes and they should move to the front of the line.

Just my two cents

Also, how easy is to fix the 10 hp deficit. Retrofit with ‘21 parts?
Easy fix? Retrofit ain't happenin' and least of all for somebody in the Bay area.

Once again, some businesses are TERRIBLE at customer service.

Airlines make this same mistake all the time. They say "sorry folks, the departure time for flight xxxx is now 10:30 p.m. due to unforseen mechanical issues."

Then all the passengers pissed off grumble as they go scrambling to the nearest airport bar and get on their phones to tell everyone they'll be arriving late.

What they should say is "We have a broken aircraft and we're not confident it can make the entire flight without crashing. But we know how important it is for you to leave and arrive as scheduled. So anyone wanting to fly on a broken aircraft, we'll begin boarding shortly."

Now, instead of them informing you, it's YOUR decision if you'd like to risk flying in a broken aircraft. When nobody boards, they've now made and owned the decision.

Ford should simply say "hey, we're probably not going to be able to deliver your order for '21 model anytime soon. We'll either let you out of your order or you can keep your order, knowing it'll be quite some time before you get a '22 model. We'll obviously honor your price/agreement. We understand if you wish to cancel."

Then it's not FORD canceling the order but the customer who's now accepted the reality of the situation and made their choice if they want to wait or get out of the order.

Airplanes fly "broken" all the damn time. It just depends on WHAT part is broken if they can comply with regs and or safety margin.

It’s not that simple. Large corporations/manufactures have to budget far ahead. This is a totally different can’o’worms than airline setbacks.

I have a good friend who was on the list for a ‘21 C8. He ordered in mid ‘20. In January ‘21, his dealer told him his order got pushed back. In March ‘21, they told him his order couldn’t be fulfilled and he was to be transitioned to a ‘22 MY C8. In the early summer they told him that his order was pushed back.

Short story long, he canceled the order because he kept getting told one story or another.

So… would you rather someone tell you up front that your order was canceled or drug along like my friend?

Came in to the Mach1 forum to search for the Granger Ford dealer info to contact about a Mach1.
Looks like I’d be out all of next years track season at this point.
Guess this solidifies my decision on continuing building the GT…….guess she will be going in for coolers this winter. 😑

Believe me. Any business that depends on multiple or in some case even single suppliers are having a real rough time right now. No one knows when/if /or how many parts will come in for orders, we don’t know what to tell clients, apologies get old, everyone is frustrated and then they raise the price on stuff they haven’t been able to supply in the first place.
