I don’t like it for a couple reasons. First of all, some of us have already ordered a car and have a deposit down based on what we originally saw. Second, the emblem change is the worst of the three updates. The darker emblem looked more modern and Ford says they went to the silver outline to look better on darker colors? The signature color for this model is a light color. Shouldn’t that be the focus?
the more I think about it the more irritated I am that they would make cosmetic changes to a car that many have already ordered. They should have waited until 2022 to fuck with it.
Although I agree the changing something from the original wasn't right. I think on your FJG it will look better than just the black emblem. It looks more thought out and refined. I think you will be happy with the change. It was one of the items I thought originally looked cheap. Really like it now.

I’m really happy with all these changes. The badge is probably the one I’m most excited about. The old one had no detail, and unless you were looking REALLY closely at it, it just looked like a black blob. If you’re that upset about it, just plastidip the damn thing, it’s not that hard... in fact, it’s a lot easier than when I was planning on having a custom made badge created to include the silver outline and replace all the badges on the car with it
I’m not going to plastidip a new car. I’ll leave that to the poors driving Ford escorts.
not sure why you found my post humorous. Anyone that has money down on a Mach 1 can be irritated that a last minute change occurred. I ordered a car that looked a certain way and now it’s being changed and I’m not happy about it.

Hopefully. As of now I’m not thrilled with it lol.

Just wait until you hear about them going back to the 6R80 and the MT82. :cwl:

The change we wanted was a NA CPC 5.2L to make it stand out instead of just being a track ready Mustang GT. Since they went with the 5.0 this really should have been done as a Boss 302.

The letters and number appear to be adhesive backed. Thus, easily removed. I highly doubt that Ford would drill that many guide holes in the fenders.

As I went back over the hood decal I realize Ford changed the side emblems to correctly match the hood tape stripe. Makes complete sense.

Still would be nice to see an exclusive mach 1 hood
Yes definitely... even the hood decal kind of throws it off with the base hood vents etc.

I am waiting for those threads of "I just did the Mach 1 front end conversion" to pop up shortly :)

I like to disassemble things.
I like new badge version but still favor the less detailed all black.

Anthony Colard, the Senior Designer at Ford that is responsible for much of this, is one of us and I trust his vision.

I agree with the changes. Especially on Iconic silver. Less likely to look goofy with two different silver like colors. Good job, Ford!
agree 100%
