I can't find info anywhere. I have a 2021 Mustang GT Premium with 25,000 miles, a 5.0 V8 engine.

Does this year model V8 have cylinder deactivation? I know the F150 does, but have heard the Mustang does not.

Any info on how to deactivate it would be great, too. I typically run it in normal mode, but occasionally run it in sport and track mode.

Thanks all,

Nick - Georgia

In 2021 the F150 went to the Gen 4 Coyote which started the Cylinder deactivation. No Gen 3 has it to my knowledge (which all 2018 plus S550 Mustangs have). Mustang doesn't have Auto Start Stop (ASS) thankfully either :)

Correct no cylinder deactivation in the Gen 3. I believe the S650 will have the Auto Start Stop though. Have not heard anything regarding cylinder deactivation in the S650
