What is the best way to clean the egg crate grill , I am having a problem clean the part of the grill that is solid and is not open threw the back? I realize that I am probably a little anal about my car , but I want to maintain it that best that I can. Thank you for your help in advance Joe.

I use my brushes with my regular car wash routine. They are soft enough to prevent scratching. I then follow up with my detail spray.

I would just add to that, make sure they're boars hair brushes, as they don't scratch. I use smaller detail type brushes for the smaller areas, and use a large boars hair brush for the entire car. It's a little pricy to purchase, but I feel it's worth the investment, however, I've had mine for over 20 years and it's still going strong, and you wouldn't believe how soft it is, and is able to get into seams and other areas easily. I highly recommend it, and one on a bigger block is about 100.00, but lasts forever.

Excellent point. I use both types.

I would absolutely recommend those Detail Factory brushes, and the long handle ones in particular. I want to point out that there are two bristle types for those brushes, Boars Hair and Synthetic.

Boars Hair (cream bristles) -

Synthetic (white/black bristles) -

Which type you use will depend on the grill finish. If I am right in thinking the 2021 GT comes with a gloss finish grill, then definitely use the synthetic version as it's far softer and safer on that sort of plastic. That said, if your grill is very dirty, then the Boars Hair version will have better "bite".

In terms of chemicals, again this will be down to how dirty the grill is.

If the grill is in decent condition, then just use regular car washing soap, using your brush to agitate -

If you are dealing with bug splatter or tougher grime, then use an All-Purpose-Cleaner or Bug Remover, again agitating with you brush. Quick Detailer would have limited cleaning power. A couple of APC's / Bug Removers include -

Then, the easiest way to get some protection into each and every section of the grill, use a touch-less/water activated sealant. Once clean and still wet, mist a couple of sprays across the face of the grill then rinse with a hose/pressure washer. This will then make future cleaning easier. These would be good options -

And no, you are not being picky or anal about this, the Mustang grill is feature of the design, keeping it clean is important.

Spray with turtle wax bug and tar foam, use pressure washer to rinse then continue with wash mitt wash
