I absolutely love every detail of the above Mach1 rendering, and have ever since it was first posted. Perfect execution combining the S550 design and retro cues. The blue color is great, or maybe a yellow. I could see this as being my retirement vehicle in a few years, if done right. (I would, however, prefer a fade to the side stripe like my 2003 Mach1). They should really consult with Scott Hoag who had so many cool ideas with a limited budget for the 2003-04 version. He even wanted white letter tires and 'Cobra Jet' on the 03-04 but bean counters shot them down.
(Yes, Tony, I have my autographed collector version (118 of 300) of the book 'Engineer+Enthusiast=Excitement, many thanks !!!!!)

To me, that's more reminiscent of a 71-73 "NASA" hood.

A Mach 1 should have a shaker scoop, attached to the engine, and sticks thru a hole in the hood.
Yes but the 71-73 Mach 1 Naca duct hood would flow better with the S550 fastback rather than the Shaker that was on optional item on the 69-70 Mach 1. the 69-70 mach 1 base had a small scoop, so a Stalker style functional scoop hood could be alright if Ford made it and less engineering would be needed vs implementing a Shaker system for the 2021 Mach 1. Others have posted the naca flow better, the Shaker is something better suited for a full on modern retro design such as the Challenger vs the more modern sport look of the S550

What's a "naca" hood?

Ford called it a "NASA" hood, and its Ford who gets to name it.

Well since being in the aerospace industry for years, I still go by the NACA term since the design was originally introduced before 1958 where NACA became NASA.

And that low drag air inlet design still goes by the NACA duct name today. The Ford publication just wanted to promote NASA since most would not know what NACA was and make it sound space age.

google NACA duct and you will see all the modern applications. and even NASA still refers it to "NACA" duct today.

this is why I just refer to them as NACA/NASA these days, so I don't have to pic sides. But I agree, the S550 would look best with this style of hood vs a shaker. and that is what I really want. it would match up to my red/red 71 mach 1 very nicely, nice 50 years apart too.

I'm liking the rear a lot. The front, I'll wait till more gets uncovered. Are those two holes supposed to be for inner lights or am I crazy thinking those are for induction? Lol.

Realistically I expect it to be a sub-60K car. Depending on what features are stock. I'm anticipating it to be mostly Bullitt+ PP lv2+ coolers and cosmetic/aero additions. If that bumps it over 60K, may as well just get a used or left over GT350.

Also anyone saying "MaCh1 NeEdS a ScOoP" really needs to learn their mach1's/

Bullitt power will not be enough for a Mach 1. Expect upgrades to get it into the 500 club. That is going to cost $$$. I also think we are going to have an A10 so add that to the bill. Even so I agree that a loaded Mach should just about hit $60k. Not sure about the GT350. Not really the car I think a Mach 1 buyer is going to want. Different strokes. Unless they want both.
