Speaking of Rs and dealers, out of curiosity I asked my dealer what they would give me on trade (toward the 2020 CFTP) of my 2018 R with 1350 miles....lol, they told me a whopping 50k.
This was after another dealer tries to convince me that ADMS made sence "because on specialty cars you make money".....
SMH
Alas.
I just got $62K. That was based on an agreement from way back last year. Sorry about your lowball offer. Carfax had my car at over 55k in today's environment.

Back to the CFTP is an R topic..... Yes, the GT350R differences between the GT350 is a CF wing, CF wheels, and other various differences..... Sound familiar?

The CFTP is a GT500R. Pure and simple.

I doubt weather Ford Performance will have a model GT500 'KR" (King of the Road) as that model was a Shelby American built new 1968, 2008 and 2009. I guess SA own that model name.
Yes maybe if they sell the name to FP. Who knows........it's the almighty dollar!!

If there's going to be a KR, then I think SA will build on a new GT500 vehicle like in the previous years.

I agree. You may see a badging thing where they call it a GT500R, but in essence, it is a CFTP.

As we know, the '08-'09 GT500KR was a "Pre-Title" car. That means Ford & Shelby owned the cars and sold them to bidding dealers. Not sure Shelby would go though that drill again. They only handle "Post-Title" cars now.
Also, the cars were assembled from a bunch of Ford Performance Parts bolted onto a premium-loaded GT500: FP Springs/shocks, FP CAI w/FP tune, V-6 Spoiler, unique wheels, plus an awesome CF Hood & simple CF front splitter. All to maintain factory warranty. Not sure what more Shebly can do to the 2020+ GT500 to garner $40K+ price they would need.
On the other hand, they can Super Snake anything! Wide-body; bigger blower; 1,000 HP, etc.

Well put.
That "S" emblem is where the money is.
Remember back in the day when dealers had them for 120k + for years and they dropped to quit them...

Badging? I really dont see 350R many places in mine..sorry Tom its been so long I had to push the button. But in all seriousness I just like the idea of it being marked as limited, but yes a CFTP is the R of the GT500.

Red grill badge, red decklid badge, red calipers, red pinstriping, wing, splitter, lower stance, etc. Yes, they did differentiate.

Now I'm REALLY confused. <grinning>
I was referring to a future variation where ford would call it a GT500R, where all along it would be as we know it today as a CFTP.

All for the whopping price of????
Haven’t seen numbers. But if a Carbon Fiber hood.... The last KR hoods were ~$13K.
I would guess about $40K on top of an owner-provided GT500.
