Wanted to check in and see if anyone has heard about 2021, 2022 offering the R or KR model designation on the GT500s.

I'm pretty sure that the hard-core, in the know enthusiasts would have been tipped off of any new variants of the GT500 for MY 21'-22' by now.

If it does happen, it is a very well kept secret.

I would imagine we will not see any changes, variations, or models, etc, etc for the GT500 through the End of Life of the model.....Maybe maybe if were lucky there will be final model 'special' something but I doubt it. Only changes we will see (meaningful) are paint color offerings.

The CFTP GT500 is a GT500R

They should of just called it that.

Evan: As @Tomster pointed out to me, the Snack Pack actually is an "R." As for the "K" version, I wouldn't bet any money on it but, you never know...whodda thought of a "Mach E," right?
The story behind KR was that Carol Shelby was brainstorming and came up with that one. He immediately contacted an intellectual properties attorney and found that term wasn't copywrited or trademarked. From that day forward, Shelby was synonymous with KR, king of the road.

Yes, it is. Unless they have plans for a future version of the GT500......

To expand on that thought, I understand that Corvette was about to use the KR name, and Shelby got wind of it. Found that GM hadnā€™t trademarked it, so he beat them to it.

Yes, that is correct.

Speaking of Rs and dealers, out of curiosity I asked my dealer what they would give me on trade (toward the 2020 CFTP) of my 2018 R with 1350 miles....lol, they told me a whopping 50k.
This was after another dealer tries to convince me that ADMS made sence "because on specialty cars you make money".....
SMH
Alas.

I like to disassemble things.
Much like the GT350 Heritage Edition being offered in the final year of GT350 production I have a strong sense that Ford will do something similar with the GT500. No power increase but rather homage in the form of good looks.

Yea, makes sense, i just like the idea of the R vs having a CFTP...
