:explode:

This is the exact reason I have a GT500 and not a Mach 1.

CoachCan - Gotcha and that’s a great looking Shelby!

Redstang20 - That’s awesome too! Congratulations! Please post your VIN and chassis info so I can add you to the list.

FASTCARS - As I understand it, VIN is the orderit rolls of the assembly line and chassis number is when Ford Performance is done with it.

VIN # is issued when your order is accepted by the Order Bank. This is not necessarily when your order is sent to the plant for assembly. A low VIN # may remain in the Order Bank until the allocated dealership order is forwarded to the plant for production. The VIN # becomes a legal fingerprint for the life of the vehicle and contains build and option information.

Chassis # is issued in the order which the completed car rolls off of the assembly line. This is in order of a unique model produced, and usually regarding a factory or aftermarket performance or other exclusive build. In this case, the order of the Ford Performance build for this MY.

VIN # and Chassis # are very rarely the same, except in very special intentional circumstances making the vehicle exceptionally collectible. A low Chassis # can be very important to collectors and potentially gives the car increased value due to exclusivity.

In summary, VIN # is when it is ordered and Chassis # is when it is built in relationship to the MY line. The exclusivity of an early build is why 2020 Shelby GT500 VIN 001 sold for 1.1 million.
