2021 GT500 Production Scheduled to End at the End of November

Rumor has it that production for the 2021 GT500's will end at the end of Nov. If you have a 2021 GT500 on order and it is not in production, contact your dealer and have him check the new scheduled build date, if it is later than the end of Nov, your order may be canceled. Keep in mind that this is the scheduled end date, so the date could change for the better or possibly worse. The chip shortage, possible supply shortages and cold weather could negatively impact scheduling.

I bet I am screwed. Ordered mine 8/23/2021 and it’s still has no VIN# and is in material hold status. This sucks.

Funny I just talked to my dealer. I have an order order from 4/24 for a CFTP. My VIN was assigned on 8/4/2021. The car was originally supposed to be built this week. It was pushed back to November 1st this past Monday. When the dealer check today, it is showing a build date of 12/20/2021 which is perplexing.

As far as I know, the factory shutdown starts the end of November for the Shelby and other high trim mustangs with cup tires.

He is putting a call into their regional rep on Monday morning

.... According to my dealer, it will "probably" be canceled and changed to a 2022. Not sure how accurate this is because he wouldn’t reach out to the Ford rep, he was just going off experience. He is the general sales manager, so I guess he knows what he is talking about? Even though last week he said it would be here this year….

I mentioned that when I spoke to my dealer and he wasn't sure if a car could be canceled once the VIN has been issued. Waiting to hear back from my dealer

Unfortunately, they can cancel a car even if a VIN has been assigned. Earl has been able to see cancelled VIN's in the past.

I am afraid that it is not going to get built, even if they were to extend 2021 GT500 production into Dec, they don't build CFTP cars in Dec because of the tires.

Update:
There is hope for some of the CFTP cars that are scheduled for Dec, I read that Ford is trying to figure out a way to schedule them for an earlier date. So, don't give up on your order.

my thoughts exactly. I believe the plant shuts down shelby and any mustang with Cup 2 tires after thanksgiving. We shall see

Welp dang guys. Don't wanna go into what I do but I put a call in and yes gt500's will balance out at end of November. Don't think we'll see an extension.

I'm hearing nationally 480 Vin's will be cancelled. I've had a VIN since July but we messed up and didn't put mine in as a special order. This is all due to supply constraints.

Those of you that are ordered as a retail (special order) and not stock units have a better chance of being built. Ford is focusing on completing VIN's that are SO.

I get a final word on everything within 2 weeks from today. I'll keep yall posted.

I'm sad, I'm obsessed with FPB.

That is sad. I think if it happened to me I would have to switch away from blue. There are some cool builds on here. Best of luck.
