I work at a dealer in NY, been here 9 yrs. These guys are a little boring in how they've ordered Shelbys for stock in the past and last year when we finally got an allocation for a GT350 I told them "Listen, you gotta stop with the black /black Shelbys, lets switch it up. I guarantee you that if you order it in Velocity Blue with Black Stripes it'll sell much faster than if you get another black one." They listened, reluctantly, saying if it sat around for months (not uncommon) it would be on me. The car sold before it even got here. Congrats on that color combo, its gorgeous.New member here. I've been spending a lot of time on here learning all I can about the 2020+ GT500. I was able to get the only allocation for a 2021 from my small town dealer back in July. I just got conformation that my order is in the system. Ordered velocity blue, black OTT stripes, handling package, technology package, carbon fiber dash and a black cover.
I don't know this for a fact but my hunch is that some dealers get preferential treatment from their Regional Reps. Some will get multiple allocations in a year where some dealers are lucky to get a single unit.Do some dealers get early order rights? My dealer told me yesterday that the Ford rep said they couldn’t order till next week?
It’s based foremost on previous year’s Mustang sales. Therefore, bigger and more aggressive dealers get more allocations. Small guys may not get any.I don't know this for a fact but my hunch is that some dealers get preferential treatment from their Regional Reps.
