Bought my Mach 1 from a small town dealer in S.C. Was sitting on the showroom floor for 1 yr. and I paid -5% under MSRP. OK deal in my mind. After a year I am loving the car. In for service see a red GT500 sitting on the lot. Stopped to look it over saw the low miles and solid condition. Went online and saw the asking price was $104,000! Looked up the window sticker and noted the MSRP was $78,095. The dealer got it at an auction. Also had a black one 2020 6095 miles for $96,555 MSRP $78,985. Was I right to walk away or are these cars worth that kind of money?

$10k over for a brand new one is common. Some paid more, some less. But $30k for a used one? No.

I am seeing 7-10K mark ups on KIA on lots around me, was bnrowsing for a small hybrid SUV. amazing how even these ADM are on cheap Korean cars besides high performance American cars.

Well, dealers will try and see what they can get away with...curious to see how long before they lower the ADM.

Dealers were charging ADMs for the Mach 1s initially, and then inflation hit, so they simmered down. They're charging ADMs for the Dead Horse as well, because it's new and shiny.

They will come down. A dealer has had two sub 500 mile 2022 used Hellcats on their lot, perfect condition, for 10k over MSRP. They have sat for 4 months now. I have seriously been considering offering them a lowball number and see if they bite.

Run don't walk away from those two. Cars from an auction raise too many red flags for me.

Why does that sound outlandish? If you're buying a car ABOVE markup from the get go you're already in the hole that much more not even including the depreciation when you drive it off the lot. Some people are dumb, and the dealerships are taking advantage of it

Why is it if I spend my hard earned money the way I want to, you disagree, and I'm dumb ???

Umm because there are deals to be had out there where you don't have to be dumb and spend your hard earned cash for a depreciating asset....you'll learn that as you get older.....and wiser.

PS. It was listed @ 105. Asked for 95k and met in the middle. Paid 2K to ship
What do you think is the best online resource? How do you get through buying sight unseen? Is this car worth twice what mine is? (Sorry, nonsensical question.)
