If someone really wants a GT500 - wait for them to show up used, you will not have to pay over sticker and the depreciation hit will already have been absorbed by the original buyer.
Buying a new one is completely different experience than buying a used one if I can afford it I buy the new car every time.

No, its the same as the GT350. Each dealer gets X number of allocations and that is all they are allowed to sell.
What I am talking about when you have a confirmed order and it takes Ford five months or more to deliver it. I read plenty of people both here and in the Ranger5 forum have problems getting the vehicles they've ordered. I ordered a 2013 Escape and a 2015 Mustang and it took right at eight weeks now special orders take forever to get. Somethings wrong with that.

So, if a Ford GT were sitting next to a totally loaded GT500 - from just a monetary standpoint, it makes more sense to buy the Ford GT (which can also be daily driven or tracked).... and if someone is nuts enough for plunking down $$$ and mothballing either as a so called ā€˜investmentā€™ - the Ford GT comes out on top instantly. The GT500 wonā€™t see Ford GT investment value until another 20 years thereafter, while the Ford GT will have doubled its value within the first 5 years... LOL.

ADM isnā€™t going to cease to exist just because Fordā€™s MRSP + add-ons is currently insane; once those GT500ā€™s hit the lots MSRP means nothing and expect at least another $10k+ markup on top of sticker.... ā€˜just becauseā€™ ... and people WILL still plunk down the cashola...

I surely hope Ford quality on the GT500 is above average from the rest of the S550 line and that they have rigorously tested that drivetrain to hell and back before releasing it to the public. Otherwise you know the first thread from a GT500 owner who just blew $100k will be posting how the engine is rattling, it burns oil, the trans overheated at a track event, the AC evap core failed, it has a driveline vibe, the body panel gaps are horrendous and the paint quality sucks.... :giggle:

Agree, buy used. I bought a 1yr in service 350 for 49k. The first buyer paid 86k. 20K adm.

Ford quality will continue to be about the same. The best predictor of future quality is past quality. Ford had no problem selling 350ā€™s with mustang EcoBoost interiors, they will do the same with the 500.

Sorry to say it, but that's the way these cars are manufactured.

I think a lot of it depends on oddball parts shortages at times.

I ordered my '15 GT on the second day of 2015, and didn't see the car until into April. I never did hear the real reason for the delay, although I suspect it was something like this. I ordered a Marti report for the car for shits and grins and it stated that the car was 48 days behind schedule.

With all due respect how long have you been following Fords and in particular Mustang?

I think ChuckXX is new to Mustangs. It says he's a 2019 Hellcat owner, so Mopar guys likely wouldn't know about what a Marti Report is. Hell, if I wasn't restoring a 68 Fastback I wouldn't have known either..........

I'll bet you over 99% of current and previous Mustang owners have no idea what Marti Reports are. If you're a collector, show car participant, or restoration specialist, then sure, one could cast aspersions their way for not knowing. Most of us just drive the damn thing from point A to B and back.

Yes, some truth to that. For what its worth, Chuck is new to the scene. However as new as he is, I see him as an enthusiast. Plain and simple, he is enthusiastic about this purchase and is asking a lot of questions for guidance through the process (some of them good questions, some not... lol). Its understandable that some folks get a little frustrated with some of his questions, but hey, that's what this forum is for. I can't blame him one bit for researching everything before making such a large purchase. He is thankful and appreciative for any information and help. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm thankful to see someone else become part of the Ford brand and a fellow enthusiast.

THANK YOU AND A RESOUNDING YES THIS IS MY FIRST EVER "SHELBY GT 500" AND I fully admit it. BUT let me just say this Iam 68 years of age and as I've previously said Iam a muscle car guy and have owned many many muscle cars in my lifetime. When I first saw the video of the Shelby on YouTube I told my wife and she said "OH NO HERE WE GO AGAIN"!!!!! LOL I sold privately my 2019 REDEYE HELLCAT WIDEBODY TO A GREAT GUY FROM LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. Lost a little money on it but "Thats Life in the Big City". I have a 3 1/2 car garage. Just enough room for my wifes 2018 Lexus, my 2019 RT Durango and soon to be the empty space will accommodate the new baby= "2020 SHELBY GT 500"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT. I personally think the Shelby will run circles around the Redeye and in all honesty it is much more Pleasing to the Eyes. THANK YOU AGAIN TO ALL YOU GUYS AS I FIND YOU ALL VERY SUPER NICE AND PROBABLY FOLKS I COULD MAKE FRIENDS WITH VERY EASILY.

Chuck, from one 68 year old to another I certainly did not mean to convey any disrespect to you not knowing who Kevin Marti is or other people such as Galen Govier when it comes to the Mopar camp and suggest that I should not assume that most of us enthusiasts know who some of these people are.

You can get 2 2019 grand sports for the price of a loaded gt500

Funny...i saw one of those at NCM Motorsports Park blow up about a month ago (weak internals). It only had 1300 miles on it and the owner was pissed. I would not waste my money on a Corvette - the crappy Z06 has a ton of other issues in it's own right - mine did.
