That don't look like a document from Ford. I think someone had too much time on their hands and thought they would rile up the GT 500 fans. We need a poll created to find out how many believe the document is real.

Totally a fake. The last GT500 did 199mph with less power and poorer aero. The 707hp Charger, which weighs 4,575lbs, will do 202mph. Even if the weight on this were true (it's not), it would still be more apt to go faster than a Charger.

A dirty rectum.
Probably. I'd believe 4200+ if they took a loaded auto GT premium and added all that stuff and more gizmos/tech. Knowing what I do about some of the lightweighting on this car, I'm calling BS on this document.

OH BOY!!!! So many are going to be truly disappointed. I will say this, A known driver for Ford has explained to many on why the top speed of the supposed leaked GT500 info will not have a tops speed of 200. Now why would anyone in that position even go out on a limb to even explain a supposed top speed of a leaked document?

A yes!!!! The "weight savings are at least 400 lbs." quote from the company it self with no verified weights. I wonder why they removed the weights of the components on their website? When this was news, many to include my self went to the site and added up the posted weights and they did not come close to 400+. I even asked a youtuber who tested a customers CF R to get it weighed.....still waiting. My point is, I will believe it when I see the scales.

A miracle maybe that weight is with AWD! Thats the only way i can see this car being a road coarse warrior. Even in straights that much weight is Demon category with less hp! I am hoping this information is a Troll!

I am with you! You worked at Ford. Can you really believe this BS? Even adding a supercharger on a GT350R and some coolers will be less than 4000 lbs as total.

4200 lbs is definitely believable and what else did you aspect from a supercharged V8 with bigger everything, it's essentially a GT350 on steroids.

Lets start at GT350 3800 lbs.

10R80 is 115lbs heavier than the 3160 so now 3915 lbs

Easton TVS 2650 is ~185lbs so now 4100 lbs

Add more fascia, coolers, more tire, more wheel, more brake, subtract some for CF driveshaft and maybe some CFRP elsewhere.

Given that the ZL1 can get as heavy as 4100+ and has a 100lbs+ body weight advantage alone, coupled with more aluminum used throughout. I would say Ford has done alright and a low content/R model might be closer to 4100.

That being said, I hear it will be very fast, it will just be hard on tires and brakes in comparison to some other lighter offerings.

God damit Somebody get it!!!!
Great post. The Alpha chassis is lighter than the S550 a fully loaded 18GT350 weighs near 3800lbs. You hit the nail on the head.

I live near Speedkore and they wouldn't give me any real info either. I don't believe 400lbs either. I'd believe maybe 200.

If this car is coming out as a 2020 model and the new gen mustang is coming out in 2021, why not introduce the GT500 with a better and lighter platform which will also be used for the next gen mustangs? Or is it a wet dream to see a weight reduction for the next gen as well?
