This video starts with a fun chase car view intro and then goes right to my fastest lap of the weekend. I matched my best lap time ever at COTA of a 2:23. Next up is Charles from Function Factory Performance piloting my car around the track. He could not catch a break with traffic and flags! I switched from the advanced red group to the very advanced white group and had a blast with the crazy track cars. I also ran in the instructor only group. The video has highlights from both groups and then concludes with a summation from Charles and me. Footage is captured on multiple cameras including a camera on my digital dash for the first time. For this track day, I ran Goodyear F1 Supercar 3R tires, Hawk Performance DTC-70 (front) and DTC-60 (rear) pads & Motul RBF 700 brake fluid. The combo was fantastic! These crazy cars are fun as hell at Circuit Of The Americas! I hope you enjoy!

That’s really cool. With added power of the 500 it really shows how fast Honey Badger has gotten is 350 when you look at track times. The braking at the end of the back straight is really impressive with how stable the car is under stress.

Thank you sir! I don’t recall Honey Badger’s specifics, but I believe he runs a stripped down GT350…? Removing weight seriously helps in the turns. I’m running at full weight… still rocking the subwoofer in the trunk! The 500 has awesome power, but you still have to wrestle 4100+ pounds through the corners. Anyone know what his track weight is?

Thanks for the info.

My car is mostly for track fun, but other than an aggressive track alignment, I really haven’t done anything else to it moving it away from a street car. The GT500 does quite well at the track, even at full weight.

If you haven’t driven COTA before and would like someone riding with you showing you the ropes there, send me a message. The track is stupid fun!

Thanks again for another great video. I really enjoy watching your 500 on track against some of the other really fast cars. How do you like the Goodyear F1 Supercar 3R tires, isn't this what the ZL1-1LE is running?

Thank you sir! 🍻

I am a new BIG fan of the 3Rs! They have excellent grip and good longevity. I do wish they came in a 315. I contacted Goodyear… it would be excellent if they made 315s. I’d run them on all 4 corners.

I'm using Track Addicts App as well. It's good enough and free. Not in F1.

What GPS are you using? It looks like your GPS isn't accurately recording your position on the track. That can lead to some innacurate lap time recordings.

The qstarz extreme works well. It's a 10 hz GPS.

I use my phone. I checked it against a transponder at Hallett and it was within .1 second against their official track timer that I strapped to my car. Yes, there are external GPS units that are supposed to be more accurate, but my setup works just fine for what I do.

Ahh, the g-meter. I didn’t reset it prior to the day. I never check it… not sure what it shows.

Shows if you're at the limit or on a Sunday drive...not joking

Just another data point. Are you braking at the limit? Is it more or less then the turns. Is the car out of balance, is a shock bad, suspension issues?

760 hp, will allow you to pass most people but how close to the limit are you? Also compare tires compounds, other drivers, cars.

Now if your app has it live to overlay, RPM, Speed, G's is best.
