I had the dealership I ordered mine from get verification from the area Ford rep via a group email with me in it. I had to put a $20k deposit down to lock up the CFTP allocation.

My dealer wanted $5K deposit both times. Before they check the option boxes for you, they want you to have some skin in the game too.

Yes, you may. MSRP CFTP is almost impossible. I would put it all in writing and make it as close to a formal contract as possible. Manager's signature, terms, a description of the car, etc

That's exactly what I have done at this point.. Heck, we even agreed on my trade-in for my 19GT. They sent me the entire deal, taxes, title, trade-in, all of it. I have the entire deal in writing.
