350 runs same time as a ZL1. That’s not hard to believe and the gap could be that big.
Thats the old ZL1 (gen 5), just look at the power and weight. The latest ZL1 is 650hp and weighs less than the 4100lb gen 5 zl1.

Also, its not hard to see why the new GT500 is several seconds faster than the GT350, bigger brakes, the dct and +230hp. I just dont believe the new GT500 is in the same level as the ZR1 and ACR and Ford GT.

You may not, but those that have been reviewing it and have actually driven it are comparing it to the ACR and the AMG GT-S.

I have a very hard time believing that the gap is that large.
Here's some interesting reference times - just the top 10 - hard to know exactly how the car was setup (I removed "modified" but it didn't change the list):

And of course, that's just reported times, but the "fast cars" are big HP, with very track specific type hardware.

Based on the list of cars and their record times, 127.9 is in the possibility for pushing in the GT350R, but it might go faster as well.

The 121.77 is the time that flips my lid. Unless the GT500 was going through a teleporter, it had to be really moving.

I think BillyJ did that lap and said it was with a passenger and could go quicker. That approaching GT2 speeds.

If anyone knows of uninterrupted gratton videos of some of those fast cars, i can easily chop.it up.for a more comparable, eh, comparison. Currently just going by that sealed crack as a reference point

Search Grattan and GT500 on YouTube. You could use a stopwatch and time the laps yourself.

I‘ll admit it didn’t seem as if the 350 was going all out either... so this will be interesting.

Billy J was not there.
There was a passenger though.

IMHO the 350R will beat the base GT500 at the track, and I believe the price of both show that. The track GT500 should beat it as it’s set up similar to the R but with much more HP. Yes it’s a lot heavier, but can’t see Ford pricing it that much higher and still loosing to the R. This would get many very upset.
Even the base 500 destroys the R on track. 350R beat the old zl1 and the z28 but loses to the new zl1 and zl11le.
The 500 handily beats the zl11le and c7z and on some courses with the 500 CF package then competes with the ACRe.

Welcome back, Keller, I was wondering if something happened to ya. :-)
I’m ok KB. Thanks though.
I’ve been around some, just been very busy working.
