Ha! If only I had the car back in April I would have gladly shared my paper plate process!

No specific part number, just find a wax coated deep dish design and cut away a drain channel.

If you can do it, DEFINITELY change your own oil. "The Works" at my dealer cost me just under $180 total. They charged me $100 for the oil, $30 for the filter, $30 for the labor/tire rotation and tax.
:(

In comparison, my DIY cost. Not a huge delta for those who chose to take it in for service.

I know this will come across rude to some here LOL but we are talking about 100k cars here in general. And anyone here nit picking a few hundred bucks to probably change your oil like once a year LOL. I get it if your Into taking care of your car for the joy of taking care of your car. But and I mean a big but we are worried and griping about 100 plus bucks on your pride and joy lol. Yeah whatever and damn when you take the wife and or girlfriend out this weekend be sure to take her to Chik-FiL-A to save some money on that otherwise 100 dollar date LOL.

Has anybody changed their oil using race ramps or similar? I have race ramps on order. Just wondering if any issues. Thanks.

Grey, I have used race ramps to change the oil a couple of times now and am very happy with my choice. I assume you are getting the two piece, 10 inch tall ones. Just pop off the drivers side incline and under you go. No worries and no side obstructions. Remember safety third.

After seeing that people are getting oil for less than $100 and filters for $20, I just wanted to point out that those that can do their own oil change can save a few bucks. I know I'm not the only one that has my car paid off, but I'm sure not everyone does---and a few bucks could mean the difference of taking the wife for something other than a chicken sammich. Just trying to help... ;)
