That filter looks like same type of my F-150 2.7 ecoboost. 12 quarts sheesh I was complaining about 10 on my GT..

Just so everyone is aware, when searching for parts on rock auto, 5.2L supercharged doesnt pull up certain parts. Go ahead and pull up the normal 5.2L and itll show up there

If you want the ford oil filter you have to pull up the normal 5.2L.

I just completed my first oil change at 470.5 miles. Percent oil life was indicated at 86%. After disassembly of the filter, lab analysis showed the total debris weight at 0.0043 oz. and the largest aluminum particle size at 0.0708 in. in length. For size reference, the filter paper used for the analysis is 1.85” in diameter.

All, I purchased in December last year and did first oil change in July @ about 3K miles.
Now, 2 months later and about 1500 miles, Ford App is saying I need another one.
Is this common like 350?

Just completed my first oil change at 428 miles. I have been reasonably tame with the throttle thus far, some "spirited" driving, but nothing extreme.

I saved a sample of the original oil which I found to be a bit darker than expected for having less than 500 miles of service time.

If you are considering changing your oil yourself, it is a pretty simple process. Just a couple of tips I will share.

First, think about using a deflector to channel the discharging oil away from areas you don't want it to travel. I used a couple of paper plates. One under the filter and one slid between the belly pan and oil pan. This prevents oil from running back under the belly pan.

Second tip is you can use a 27mm socket with an extension to remove the filter housing. I accessed it by pulling back the plastic panel in the wheel well.
