A mess in the corners?
You do know it can pull 1.5-g in a turn?
Oh yeah? Got a source for that? Because a car with the same suspension, same tires, and same chassis pulls less than that with 400lbs less to carry, so that sounds REALLY far-fetched to me

Wow, OVER 4200LBS?! Pathetic

Anyone who thought this would outperform the C8... hell, anyone who thought this would outperform even the ZL1 1LE... well, it's not looking too bright anymore

Same tires as the GT350, same suspension, but over 400lbs more? Yeah, that's going to be a mess in the corners

ACTUALLY the GT500 does not have the smae suspension setup as the GT350. The 2020 GT350 suspension will be changed to MATCH and bits of the 2020 GT00 suspension. So what you have said now in two separate posts is not entirely accurate.

Need to also wait and see how this car performs on the course. Straight line should be no worries. The track may still surprise us.

Start watching just before the 4:00 minute mark.
Decent video from Evan Smith.

Well that's pretty heavy. Not sure what the ceiling is with weight like that on the 1\4 mile. I'm also worried about that dual clutch. Companies like Audi moves to ZF from dual once the HP and torque gets over 450 (like the RS models). I'm seeing it today anyways and can't wait. Overall its a beautiful car. may just be tempted into trading in for it if i fall in love with it wehn I see it.

This was expected. All this new tech plus plus plus. If you thought it would be under 4K you were dreaming. 4225 plus driver puts me at 4440lbs. I’m still in, I’m a drag guy mainly and track at get togethers. Like Tomster said aftermarket will prevail the weight cutting aspect in time. Still madly in love

They said they were developing an oil pan that could handle up to 1.5G. That absolutely does not mean the GT500 PULLS 1.5G. That means the pan was made to be able to handle 1.5G

OEM parts are typically made to withstand far in excess of what the car can deliver

Another note: At big willow, the standard ZL1 (not even the 1LE) pulled 1.45G on turn 3. The top-spec GT500 POSSIBLY pulling UP TO 1.5G is not exciting

If you say so.

We now know why this took so long to be confirmed. :)

I hate jumping on the train, but that is completely unacceptable. Will it handle the weight? I'm sure it will but what's so disappointing is the thought that it's a MISSED OPPORTUNITY.

That being said, it is what it is.

So it's a nose-heavy porker just like the last gen.....missed opportunity indeed.

At least it'll be track worthy this time.

The brake discs are massive on this car. I imagine there is a lot of weight to be shed if could be fitted with carbon ceramic rotors.
I hope not.

Add another 8grand to the sticker. It doesn’t make sense anymore.

This car will be fast, brutish, powerful. It’s not delicate, it won’t dance. It’s not a GT3.

It’s a hammer, not a scalpel. The GT350R, base at 3655lbs is the closest we’ll see ford get to that.

Also someone made the comment of weight - don’t worry we still have hybrid systems, that could push the car to 4400-4500. Man alive, we need a smaller car.
