Ordered on July 16, 2019.

Delivered on July 17, 2020.

Over 3 years after putting my name on the list on my local dealer and 1 year and 1 day after placing the order my car arrived.

I'll share and document what I can here, I have done plenty of forum threads over the years, but never done an ongoing build thread, so we'll give this a shot.

First Mod:

Installed a Uniden R7 (thanks recent price drop!) using BlendMount and MirrorTap.

Easy installation.

Tapped the brown/yellow wire for switched (+) and the Black/Blue wire for (-).

Tapped the wire closest to the driver on the bottom row of the plug into the back of the mirror for positive switched power and the 4th wire for for ground.

Easy install, my first Uniden detector, have been using Escort detectors for the last 10+ years. We'll see how it does.

Would like to do a permanent install at some point, but other things are higher on the list right now.

How are the dome lights, not yet LEDs in this vehicle? Also just noticed this fixture is essentially a carryover from the S197, my previous ride, it's nearly identical.

Add LED interior bulbs to the list of things to do.

Not quite a mod, but something new none the less, in preparation for a mod.

A little while ago, I was able to get a QuickJack BL-7000SLX from Costco during the last promotion and tonight was able to put it to use for the first time.

Initial impressions of the QuickJack, it's awesome.

Glad I got the extended length of the 7000 series. It's going to work well with all of our vehicles, but primarily the GT500 and an '04 C5 Z06 project car.

Assembly was very straight forward, everything appears to be high quality.

It fired right up and I had no issues with leaks, uneven lifts, or any other issues.

The first use tonight, was to pull the factory wheels off so the tires can be transferred to my new set of Signature Wheels that have been just sitting and waiting for the car to arrive.

The short lifting blocks along with these Potauto magnetic pinch weld jacking pucks made for an easy and secure lift.

https://www.amazon.com/Potauto-Universal-Aluminum-Grooved-Magnetic/dp/B082HRPDTF?th=1

The magnets are great as you can stick them to the car where they need to go, and then raise the jack to meet the jacking puck.

These were so easy to use, it makes me wonder if I want to go through with adding jacking rails. I know you can center lift with a jacking rail, but these jacking pucks did make things very easy.

Two huge thumbs up for the QuickJack and the jacking pucks.

Next step, get those new lightweight Signature Wheels and HanSolo's nuts on there.

Another quick mod, stumbled upon these on eBay from Beith Performance Parts.

Carbon fiber wrapped lower dash trim pieces. They are OEM snap in complete with retaining clips. These bring the carbon fiber wrapped dash all the way down to the end of the dash.

A perfect fit and really complete the look. It bugged me that the CF dash didn’t go all the way down and glad to have found these!

Very happy with them.

A Beith wheel may be in my future.

This is the link to the auction I purchased from. I would contact Beith Performance Parts directly and inquire about ordering. It is not an item that is currently showing in their online store.

I didn't know that the lower dash pieces don't match the upper when you get the CF dash - what do the OEM parts look like?

I assumed that for the cost of the option all the parts were CF.....

yeah it actually doesn't look bad. Makes the dash look like one straight across dash. While the lower pieces are black plastic to match the rest of the trim in the car. It's just odd because Ford has it matching every other dash but not the carbon fiber one. I'm in talks with MPR to get me a pair over.

Had time to do a couple more things tonight. Some additional dress-up items to clean it up a little bit.

Installed the JLT Master Cylinder cover and Coolant tank cover.

The coolant tank cover turned out to be a bit of an undertaking. I had to enlarge the hole as the coolant tank lid could not close at it's regular size, and it was damn near impossible to clip the coolant line back in on the back side so I also had to enlarge the hole to the drivers side of the coolant tank.

While it was more of an undertaking to install, it does clean things up nicely and is a nice match to the factory plastics under the hood.

PPF / Ceramic coat comes next week and after that have some additional plans for it.

The JLT master cylinder cover looks good for the GT500. I like the way it fastens to an unused hole with a clip to match the other side. The one they make for the 2018 GT to me doesn’t look as natural.

Sneak Peek:

Picked up the car after paint correction, PPF, ceramic and tint. It came out great.

Had the stripes replaced as well.
