Speedkore parts are coming along nicely.

they will have them done very soon.

Anderson composite components will take some time. Probably may. Hopefully sooner but we shall see.

Very nice! I didn't see where you said it, going to paint the CF, or run exposed? How is the drive shaft?

i am painting just the outside to match the car. Leaving the underneath portions as is.

the driveshaft install was very easy. After driving a few hundred miles and doing 3 track events on it (roughly 125 miles of racing) it performed excellent. I feel 0 vibration. I can “hear” the shaft spinning as it accelerates, that’s with the windows up, AC off, no music, and the exhaust valves closed, you can hear the slight hum of it spinning, this is absolutely minor and is common with all these one piece shafts. I give the driveshaft an A+ for now. We will see how it holds up over time. I’m happy as of now.

Out of curiosity did you feel any type of performance improvement with the carbon driveshaft?
it’s hard to feel a performance gain in a driveshaft, but you can feel an increase in the pedal to acceleration response. This is extremely minor. But you can feel an instantaneous response now, very snappy, in a good way. When the car is under high revs and you let off the gas, you can feel less hum or slightly less cabin vibration. It’s just a lighter shaft, so you can tell the difference if you know what to feel for.

As for performance like going faster, tough to say. I would say no. But for it easier on components for wear and tear I think it has a benefit.

I did set personal bests at my last two track days since install. But can’t attribute that to the driveshaft. But maybe it helped.

Also got new race seats for the car.

found a place today. I found a racing buddy who recommended to check them out. And it paid off.

Wine Country Motorsports

They had about 20-25 seats in stock so I got to try a bunch of them out.

I found the seat I want and went ahead and ordered them.

I went with the Sparco QRT-C

all carbon fiber. These seats weigh 12.5lbs with the cloth on them. And for how light they are. We’re very comfortable.

pretty excited to get everything mounted up
Luckily Everything was in stock. One of the seats was in their Colorado store. And I need the side mounts which were in stock with sparco.

looking like a solid 55lbs in weight reduction.

This is awesome. I've been looking for a place where I could test multiple seats. I'll check them out when I'm up that way at Laguna Seca later this year.

Any reason you didn't choose a full halo seat? I've run both types of buckets and have really grown to love the halo. Helps reduce fatigue since I can rest the 'mellon on it in high G :)

yes, I still haven’t made the decision to go full race car. I am enjoying streeting this car as well.

My dad and I went 50/50 on a nice race trailer a few years ago. Since he’s got the fancy gt500 CFTP, and he doesn’t want to street his car. Our race trailer hauls his car around full time. So my car ends up driving to the trace tracks and I swap wheels when I’m there.

until I get a stacker or I’ll just buy my own enclosed trailer, my car still drives to all the hpde events every week.

I’m liking the race/street hybrid build I’m doing and these seats fit that idea.

The shop had some nice OMP halo seats that I was eying.

didn’t think the halo would be a hood head support lmao. But I would think if I was doing a 2 day event that the neck will finally get tired. So far the one days I’m ok. But dang, when I do a full day from morning to evening, I’m completely wiped out by the end. It’s amazing how fatigued you get after all that driving

Since I’m relatively new to road racing this heavily.

can anyone tell me about these rotors and if this is normal.

I have about 1800 track miles and 4000 street miles already on car.

Might be time for a new set? Guess I should have a second set on hand anyway.

Great build thread, nice updates and pics detailing your adventure - thanks for sharing with us!

Just curious with all of the changes you’re making, do you happen to have an idea of your current net weight savings and/or projected total vehicle weight w/driver?

Those are getting close. You can run them a bit longer, but I’d have an extra set. 1-2 more days is probably okay. Change after that.

I use the gyro disc rotors and like them. Better cooling and less cracking

So you’re saying these might be in the same boat? These have 8 track days on them. How many days are you getting on your gyro discs?

Edit: I realize we run different tracks so it won’t be an apples to apples comparison, just curious if you get a decent amount more wear out of the gyro discs compared to stock.
