Found this too - talks about how different manufacturers handle or don’t handle track warranties. Porsche sounds like they might not warranty cars for track use, either.

I have heard that Porsche will cover track use, but only saw it online from GT3 owner I feel like these matters are on a case by case basis and and pretty much impossible to get and solid information unless you have a first hand account.

I guess we wont really know until we see some pissed off guy making a post complaining that Ford won't cover damage on his 2020 GT350 from the track unfortunately.

Kinda stupid to market a car as a track car and then put it in writing that track use isn't covered imo

The only model that I was aware of that covered track use besides the GT350 was the Veloster N. I'm disappointed to hear about the 2020 stipulations.

The more I think about this..I think you’d be ok. It’s been heavily marketed as a street car you can take to the track with a warranty. Unless it’s in the verbiage of something you sign during purchase (yikes, I admit that I barely read when I signed), including this AFTER the purchase seems sketchy. Hopefully they are just giving themselves the ability to deny warranty for things like money shifts.

Doesn't a money shift destroy the transmission only? I remember seeing a post here about a guy having transmission problems and apparently the transmission isn't covered under warranty

No. This is how 2019 becomes the best year of the GT350 lol. Just kidding :)

Going out of their way to specify track use is pretty low. The part with competition use, timed events etc. is pretty standard across all manufacturers.
That is not something that ends up there accidently.

No, the engine is only rated for so many RPM. A money shift would in no way be covered. That parameter is recorded by the car. They would know.

FP got back to me today, they are still looking into it. Initial impressions are that the car should be covered, but they have to go up the chain to make sure.

Yep. ..and a money shift, when you aren't fortunate enough to just have your tires lock up and spin out, will mechanically over-rev the engine.

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
This is no bueno. Thanks for looking into it. If they retroactive this thing to the earlier cars I’m asking for my full extended warranty back.

Very curious to hear Ford says about this. I read this as now including any type of use on track is now excluded (timed or not). If this is true, this is a big hit. I love how many 350s I see at track days - always 5-8 of them. This car has done such a great job getting new drivers on track. Will be really sad to see if Ford nixes that by no longer supporting a motor failure in a non-timed event.

If anyone ever needs some help with engines, you know who to hit up! :)

The FP350s engine is built for the track!

So if my engine blew and it was on my own dime, I should not fork out 20K on the non-track 5.2 engine and instead fork out the money on the FP350S Crate Engine instead? I'm disappointed to hear there are two types of 5.2 engines for the Voodoo platform.
