Regarding the Galpin VIN, the owner is a huge collector, so would not be surprised that’s for him to keep

(1st car, long gone) '86 5.0 GT Jalapeno red. '20 HEP-R. The other cars don't really matter.
35 new HEP R’s... looks like that puts the total near 250.
I am ready to pull the trigger on a 19 or 20 R, used or new, but this is one of the things giving me pause right now regarding pricing and color choice. I like the pallet of the HEP as a color option and even accept the $1965 markup for paint a some badging. However, given the push by dealers for ADM, or even MSRP for the HEPs, Rs and HEP Rs due to “rarity” more so, it seems that having 250+ HEP Rs reduces that factor a bit. That then seems like it should logically do less to maintain a higher price than a non-HEP In the used/collector market, which is what the dealerships and some private sellers are basing pricing on.

It almost looks like there are more HEP cars being built than all other colors combined. That then makes some of the other classic colors like FPB or even white w/Kona more rare.

Thoughts? Call me color confused.

I agree, I own a new HEP-R and prior to seeing the spreadsheet I thought they were much more rare.. so that bummed me out a little but again when you see it in person it is perfect so glad I did it. Having said that I’m not a collector so not sure what what drives exclusivity but not sure paint color combos are the key factor? The HEP is a MFTR option for 2020 only so maybe the fact it’s an option that is also a nod to the original GT350 55 years later adds value or uniqueness? As you may know the HEP-R, is paint, badges but also different color Seats, not a big deal but I like the plain gray and red detail versus the standard R Seats with red panels. Also, again very minor but when you get your driver supplement package from ford for buying a GT350R you get 4 professional photography/art Pieces of the HEP in your box. See pic. Minor details but still cool!

My local Ford Dealer apparently got an allocation for a HEP R, fully optioned save for the carbon fiber dash. Shows being delivered. Drove by the showroom this morning, but didn't see it. Not sure if it is already spoken for, nor the asking price. Taking the Lightning in for an oil change Friday, maybe it will be out by then. Vin is 1FA6P8JZ8L5552490.

Well, if you’re looking for collector rarity more rare than 280 HEP R’s in the pentacle year of the GT350 (R gets revamped steering and knuckles) then you probably need to look elsewhere.

As for the non-R HEP, yes, that color will dominate the MY2020 GT350 colors but it is only a 1 year offering. I don’t necessarily see a big collectibility there but for the HEP R I do see some collectibility.

Why did I buy one?.. because:
1) I wanted it regardless of collectibility,
2) the color scheme is the most reminiscent to the 65-66 GT350’s,
3) because I can.

MSRP is what it is in the R world, and again, this being the pentacle year of the GT350R getting a sub-MSRP is rare but possible.

Hasn’t been claimed on the spreadsheet yet... fingers crossed for you, but if you want it I’d be on it Monday at doors-open.

The more I read the posts about dealers with high ADM’s the More Thankful I am that I was able to secure a 350R HEP.. if I waited one more day I would have probably lost it...

I LOVE THE COLORS! What a machine! We had beautiful weather today, so we had some playtime!

IMO, they should have named the stripe color “Viagra Blue”! If you even had the slightest sign of ED, this would cure you in a heartbeat!

The dealer has been calling me and texting me every day! But when I saw the GT350R HEP! In person! I was done! That’s what I wanted!
