I have a couple dealerships I've been watching with 2020 GTs that have been sitting for 10+ months now. 301A GTs. Looking for a killer deal, and wondering what the best some of you have done on 2020 leftovers. I haven't Mustang shopped in a few years now, is ~75% of sticker still possible like I got on my new 15?

Make an offer. The worst that can happen is they say "No".

What are they advertised at? Obviously these things are always up to a number of variables. I have not quite seen ~25% off MSRP in my bit of reading and experience. But, with the right dealer and incentives, I have seen 20-22% off. In fact, before TTL I got my 2020 GT for 20% off MSRP last year at the beginning of COVID when sales were slow and inventory was still high. It had been sitting 4 months. It was also an polarizing color(Lime). I am also lucky enough to live next to the #1 volume dealer in the USA. They tend to offer better deals since they move so many cars, especially for highly spec'd models. For example, here's a GT for 20% off:

https://www.brandonford.com/vehicle...mium-performance-package-tampa-fl-id-38040005

All their 2020's are basically marked down 20% while the 2021s have much less incentives.

I am also keeping my eyes on left over 2020s. I regret getting my 2019 in manual and want to trade in for a 10r80 car. So far the most I am able to get dealers down is about 11% off sticker MSRP. They still won't play game even with 2021's coming to their lot.

I can be patient though.

Check and see if you have a private cash offer in your name. I had one I used to buy my car for an additional $1250. It expires tomorrow, March 31

MSRP on my base (no 301a) was $37xxx and I paid $31xxx. It was $2500 in rebates, $1250 private cash and $2500 the dealer took off. Not the best deal ever but pretty good for around here. The strong used car market got me a great trade in value too

I had another dealer tell me he wouldn't discount anything aside from rebates due to Covid shortages. Needless to say I didn't return his call

$30,XXX in the DMV area was the very best I could do on a base manual GT. Most dealers where in the 33-34K range. The good news is trade in values are though the roof. Satisfied with the purchase price I settled with.

I just turned down a 2020 GT premium coupe. Sticker was $46,555 and the offer was $42K out the door. Wife said we should get a convertible since it will be a 3rd car. Search continues.
