When i saw one in person i thought the front looked great, the side looked great.....but the rear just wasn't working for me. I can't say exactly what is wrong just compared to the rest of the car looked bulky and busy. Still though overall it looked very nice.

I saw a brand new C8 over the weekend. I was a passenger in our car so I could look it over as we slowly went around it. Did not like it as much as I thought I would. The side scoop is way too big to me, and the rear is Camaro-ish and a mess. I thought the nose looked good. Just doesn't flow IMO.
Yeah, it's got of bunch of "checkbox design" in the context of a mid-engine performance car, but lacks cohesion and amps up / add on, some really tacky details.

a neighbor has one. I agree GM needs to hire some Italians to teach Detroit a thing or two about design. Pity beatings were outlawed.

The C8 rear end is kind of all over the place. I sold my red C8 back in April. Will buy a 2021 black one because it hides some of the rear end treatment. Hopefully they will have some of the bugs worked out. That 6500 red line doesn’t help with the visceral experience. The exhaust in the Z51 isn’t as loud as the C7 Z51. Open in track mode It’s to tame. You get in the GT500 and it’s night and day difference. Much more of a visceral experience in the Shelby. I also think the DCT shifts bit faster in the Shelby. From a 20 mph roll the Shelby will walk away from the C8. GM will have a V/8. DOHC Flat plane crank engine in the Z06 maybe by late 2021. Now that should rock the boat.

Yeah I agree too many sharp lines and boxy rear end. Headlights are way too large. No need for that with led technology.

... and tons of reports of issues with the new DCT, and an issue with the "frunk", which apparently is just popping open on some people (not at particularly high speeds either).

First year major platform change is tough.
They also have batch of bad engine valve springs and haven’t identified the batch yet. It could be 50 cars or much larger built from june 1st until September 15th according to the midengine forum site. No word yet but people are having issues one by one.

Not knocking the C8 because this can happen to any first year model ....your usual teething problems.

And tailpipes should not be rectangular...
Oh yeah I agree 1000%. Plus they need to be larger like the GT350 or bigger like the GT500 if they have the room back there.

Kinda funny, they're the ones who started the monster tailpipe theme and then dumped it.
Yeah I don’t get it. The Z06 used to be large in the center.

I generally like the style of the C8, and it has more interior leg room than the C7. The C8 has that wow factor when you see it on the street. However, I REALLY like the C7 as it seems both traditional Corvette and futuristic in design, if that is possible.
Only one thing that I absolutely cannot stand on the C8 is the rear spoiler that I believe comes with the Z51 handling package that everyone I have seen in person has. In my opinion it totally destroys the design continuity. In other words, to me, it looks like something you would buy at Pep Boys. It just kills the whole flow of the otherwise terrific design. Again, only my opinion.
