Hello,

New member, first post.
I'm looking into a new 2020 EcoBoost with the Handling Package, which appears to come with 19X9.5 inch wheels. Does anyone have any specs on these particular wheels? Specifically, weight, backspacing, and whether or not they are interchangeable front to rear.

Did some searching through here, but nothing jumped out at me. As I said, I'm new to the forum, so I have a lot of searching ahead of me.

Any insights appreciated, especially if someone had real word measurements.

Thanks!

The '18 pp wheels are 19 x 9 and weigh 29 lbs. So I would imagine the handling pack ones are in that range

the 2019 EB/PP is 19x9 et45 square. If Ford had any sense the EB handling would be square as well (eg et40) but I can't say for certain. Your dealer's parts counter may be able to dig up the stats.

In 2 different pages the handling pack wheels are called out as 19x9. Only in the Handling Pack description on the build and price page does it say 19x9.5. The pictured wheels look identical to the ones I have on my '19 EB/PP.

The high performance package without the handling package comes with 19Ă—9. The HPP with the handling package comes with the 19x9.5 wheels that look like the GT PP2 wheels. They are a square setup with 265/40r19 tires.

square has little/nothing to do with the width of the rims or the tires they are shod width. Can the fronts be mounted on the rear axle or not? Offset is what matters, and we don't know.
I can mount 255/40 tires on my staggered GT/PP1 and it'll work great. What I can't do is mount the ET52 rear wheels on the front.

You are correct but I made an assumption since Ford hasn't used different offsets front and rear for any other S550 wheels when wheels and tires are the same width all around. Even the PP2 are 10.5 and 11.

The rims all have the same offset on the handling pack

Not a surprise. Why sacrifice the ability to rotate without the look of bigger tires in the rear?

Welcome to the forum - and there’s a great deal of S550 tech and many helpful members on this site!

The high performance package without the handling package comes with 19Ă—9. The HPP with the handling package comes with the 19x9.5 wheels that look like the GT PP2 wheels. They are a square setup with 265/40r19 tires.
MidwayJ is correct in what the OP is asking.

The 2020 EB HiPo if opted with the Handling Package comes with these rims, which are 19x9.5 “squared”:

but are only visually similar to the 2018+ GTPP2 rims (which are staggered; 10.5 fronts and 11 rears):

Based on multiple online pictures of the 2 Mustang platforms, it also looks like the 2020 EB HiPo Handling Package rims are a darker shade of gray than the 2018-current GTPP2 rims.

All of the EB w/ PP from 2015-current were always equipped with squared 19x9 front and rear rims. 2020 is the first EB PP (HiPo w/Handling Package) to get a squared 19x9.5 rim.

IMO, a squared set up is better for being able to rotate tires to try and prolong tread wear life (via normal driving characteristics).

Took delivery of my '20 EB HPP w/ Handling Package a week ago, and finally took the wheels off for inspection today. As suspected, I do not see anything differentiating Front or Rear only.

19 X 9.5 ET40

Didn't try to weigh them, though

9.5 ET 40 square is kind of awesome (for a Ford part anyway). That's 0.5" more aggressive offset on all four corners than the PP1 wheels, and the widest front wheel on a factory Mustang that isn't a Shelby or a pokey PP2. Its even a good looking style.

When they announced the HPP handling pack they made a big deal of the increased wheel and tire widths in their official publication. 19x9.5 square with 265/40R19 Pzero PZ4 tires.

No complaints, as of yet. It's a completely different animal than my previous '17 base EB. That really doesn't come as much of a shock. It really does keep pulling and pulling on a long empty road, but haven't put it through too many cornering tests yet.

Eagerly awaiting some RE-71R's and new wheels to compare apples to apples with the old car
