I like to disassemble things.
First, credit goes to our own Houston Kid for bring this to everyone's attention in this thread. I made sure this one got moved up the chain and was told that Ford had yet to see this up to that point and that they were aggressively investigating. Second, while a TSB has been issued I have to say that I'm in disagreement with the diagnosis and the solution. There is zero mention of hood stop/bumper variation being a contributor and that it is something that needs to be checked. See attached.

Another reason to leave the rain tray out. Should reduce hood vibrations by letting the air flow.

Add on..... it is totally the stop bumper adjustment. So much so that people were complaining of tight latches. Lube and adjustment of the bumpers will solve the problem

My gut says this TSB "solution" was driven solely by budgetary concerns and not by the actual reality of the issue. This is how you solve a problem by yelling "look over there" and then running in the opposite direction. This fits in with the line of thinking with respect to the secondary chain tensioner issue, that if one side is good the other must be too so don't bother looking at the other one.

My left latch is harder to press than my right one... I should probably check this out on my 2021... I searched and can’t find the hood latch thread I thought was here where someone had nice pictures and the exact steps they followed and spots they lubed to make things all happy...

maybe it was another forum...

anyone have better memory for me and the ink I’m referring to?

That was me. Yes, lube the latch and set the bumpers so that the hood can be latched (pin latches) with force enough so that all you have to do is press down on each hood pin latch with your fingers.
