The gears are going in my '20 GT 6 speed. Discussed with the installer. They asked for my Lund ticket number so they could get an updated tune from them to accompany the gear change. Anything else to look out for?

Watch out for popo once the gears are in. These things are like rockets with that gearset.

Who's installing it for you if you don't mind asking ? Or what did they quote you ?
I've been looking at changing to 4.09, gave up at least temporarily but it's still somewhere in the backpocket.

I have developed a professional relationship with Finish Line Performance/Beefcake Racing in Milford. They do excellent work. I was quoted $1700 parts/labor plus tax. Of course I will have to add in $150 for the updates tune from Lund.

1st and 2nd gear won't be as crazy as you'd think it would be. To me where it really shines is the pull in 3rd from 3k and up.

Dropped my rear over the weekend. Taking it to a Ford tech to have 4.09's installed. Kinda disappointing to hear it doesn't make much difference in 1st & 2nd gears.

Well keep an open mind, the gears helped first and second a lot for me. Mathematically they do as well.

Anyone running the 1/4 mile on 4.09s? I was wondering if it would require a shift to 5th gear and what the trap speed would be? Man, how I wish I had some 4.88s! I know those would definitely require a shift to 5th gear.
