I got a 2019 mustang gt and my rpm shift light goes on at 4500. Is this right? I keep hearing my car might be in "delivery mode". I cannot find any info on this.

Never heard of Mustangs having a "shift light". Is this a 401A thing?

Go in the settings and change the shift point. I believe it defaults to 4500 but you can set it up to 7200 I think

Mustangs have had this on at least some models since the last generation.

Ability to modify "shift light"? That has to be only with a certain option group, correct?

I have it and I think it's because of the digital dash? It has option to turn it on, and gives a "range" ×/- of the rpm you want it to set it at, and on the tachometer, it puts a yellow/orange band.

Go into your menu, mustang button, and change the rev notifications. Mine is set to start beeping and flashing at 6400 or 6500 rpm. It's handy when full boogie, eyes up, throttle down, shift when beeps, repeat.

Turned mine off before I left the dealer's lot on day 1. If you need the car to tell you when to shift, you're not doing it correctly.

Interesting hot take when drag racers use shift lights...

I've got my 2018 set at 6500rpm and set it on Tone but you can have the light flash on the digital dashboard.

Click the Cog button Bottom Right, flick though the menus Shift indicator, set the Rev's!

I've got a manual and not an Auto the noise just stops me from over revving.

Since I don't take my car to the strip, drag racing really isn't an issue, is it?

No, but you just made a blanket statement like the use of the light means someone doesn't know how to drive. Maybe elaborate more next time?

Everyone that drives a manual on this forum seams to think it takes tremendous skills. When I drag raced my SRT-4. I just looked at the tach.

And there are many on this forum that just post stupid shit.

If you are racing, and have the option to preset a tone, vs taking your eyes off the road, why would you not use the tone?

Silly ass discussion, but all the RPM by ear experts keep on keeping on. BTW, I drive my car all over town shifting without looking down, but in a race at high rpm's and speeds, you should be focusing on other things like the pavement ahead.

It's hilarious that pro cars have shift notifications, yet, all these keyboard experts here on this site look down their nose at them...
