Don't forget... SC applications make heat and are less dependent upon heat for optimal efficiency. Turbos make heat but also like heat so that they can operate more efficiently.

Here is an article with a "hot-V" setup. Seems doable.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ca...engine-layout-and-what-benefits-does-it-have/
Notice Whipples new SC design? They had to flip the supercharger upside down in order to clear the PDI system. Also notice, no intercooler bricks on the Roush/FP 2600.

As reported, no intercooler bricks within the V like last year. Both the Port and Direct Injectors caused clearance issues.

One would think that helps create hype and buzz for the upcoming vehicle, but I guess not. It's not like they had problems selling the GT350 despite it being seeing by the public before official reveal. Just doesn't make sense, but I am sure there is a reason for it.
Unfortunately, Ford's marketing team still operates in an old school manner. In today's world leaks (many of which are planned leaks) help build hype.

The new Ford Performance Mustang is really going to have to be something special to separate it from a GT with Level 2 PP and the new warranty supported supercharger option.

there has long been a warranty supercharger option, 2015-17 FP/roush: M-6066-M8627

optional 3/36 warranty.

Roush just released some info on the ā€˜18. 700hp and 640tq. With their suspension 1.07 lateral g. That will be pretty damn impressive on a dragstrip with the A10. The GT500 has to surpass that

Hasn't the GT500 always made more power than Roush's entry-level supercharged offering? (not their warranty-less Phase 2-3-4-5-x...)

Or maybe there just isn't going to be a GT500?

Sounds like it will be impressive on a road course as well. Ford has a pretty high bar too hit with GT500 which is probably why we haven't seen much about it yet.

I donā€™t know probably. But youā€™ll be able to get a 700hp roush at or below msrp and pay what 20k plus ADM for the gt500 and gain what 50 hp.

So the gt350 was revealed in Nov of 2014. Ford made 100 350s and 37 350r for model year 15. Full production started in 2016. The Super secret ford gt was revealed at 2015 detroit auto show along with the raptor both as 2017 models. I would argue that the reason ford gt was kept so secret was because it was meant to race at le man's. I guess the point of this rambling is if we don't see something in the next 2 months I don't see how there is going to be a gt500. I would expect to see mules testing the new updated 2020 model year soon. The 2020 models will be in show rooms in November of 2019. We will probably know what it looks like in late 2018. So I think ford is almost out of time to release something. Of course ford has never said that there was going to be another gt500. All of the hype has been from people who really don't know.

I appreciate all you views and opinions but I thought you havenā€™t worked for ford in over two years? Did I read that right in a previous post?

Regardless, you say easy in your post. A 3900lb car with the suspension geometry, wheels wells and offsets of the mustang canā€™t handle over 1.1G without Trofeos or all out slicks.

Will ford abandon Cup 2s?

Secondly, I think the Gt350 is coming back with CCB and perhaps a DCT. They may call it a GT4 or GTR. Any truth to that, that youā€™ve heard?

There is nothing (big) new for 2020MY. S650 is a 2021MY. M1 prototype mules of that will be out running around next year. It's too early for anything physical yet.

So I guess you are saying it will be a 2020 model. The last year of s550. If 20 my is released in Nov of 19 and production of the s650 starts in march of 21 that is a long run. Might as well be a 22. Which is when the s650 was supposed to originally come out.

Why wouldnā€™t the cup 2s be able to handle 1.1g? They are pretty similar to the trofeos and the new Goodyear 3R on the ZL1 1LE that pulls 1.11. On the Z06 the cup 2s are good for over 1.2g. I wonā€™t speak for bmac but Iā€™ll bet heā€™s still connected and my guess is he was higher up in the chain and has a very high knowledge of Fords process.
