That gurney flap probably creates a bit more down force.

To me it looks like they decided to create less downforce with the new spoiler, for whatever reason. And the Porsche one might look similar, but it is for a totally different reason; to push air into the engine intake.
I realize what the piece on the Porsche is for of course. Just pointing out the similarity in that design.

Another shot of the Gurney Flap installed on a 2019 GT350....

By the way, the regular GT350 on the left is Velocity Blue and the R on the right is Ford Performance Blue.

Thanks for the side by side shot! Velocity Blue and Ford Performance Blue look very similar, almost too similar! For my taste, I'd take Velocity, it looks slightly lighter and more vibrant.

Also, I don't think the Porsche GT2 RS's wing is anything like the 19 GT350's. The Porsche GT2 RS's ducts are feeding air into the engine bay, its wing is simply a big separate wing. While the GT350's ducts are to channel air as part of the rear spoiler design.

For sure. It would be interesting to know the difference in down force of the R wing vs. the '19 wing with gurney flap. You'd think they'd have an option for the front lower lip spoiler to go with the rear gurney flap option for balance.

Again, yes I know that the RS's ducts are feeding air into the engine bay and that those ducts have nothing to do with the spoiler. I wasn't even comparing the spoilers of the 2 cars, I was just pointing out the similarity of the design because they are both, for lack of better terminology, "air channels" (one used to feed an engine or engine bay, and one to utilize the air flow over the back of a car).

I think the suspension and wings are tuned together (or I hope so), like an F1 car... So changing the wings just for looks might have not such a positive effect during high speed cornering ?

Im happy with the Velocity Blue. The rear facia does not appear to be as shiny as earlier models but that could just be dirt. Other pictures Ive seen show the same rear facia as the previous years

I'm hoping the 2019 spoiler is affordable, because I'm ready to swap it out!

Y-U-P! Same here dude. I dig it. I’d think someone would come out with a carbon version too, considering this will be a much simpler swap than going with the R wing.
