Dang... That's some low ass torque. That makes me appreciate the Gen 3 Coyote even more.

If trap speeds didn't improve than neither did the hp! Mathematics never lie!!
Debatable. The 19 GT350 is virtually the same weight as previous years, if not more. It also has increased aero for downforce, and grippier tires creating larger rolling resistance. To trap the same speed with all that against you means something might be pushing harder.

I'd bet the 19s make ~5HP or so more due to the better flowing heads, which roughly compensates for the aforementioned items to deliver similar trap speeds.

How much lighter are the new wheels? That does make a slight difference with whp numbers.

The 2019 GT350 was tested by Car and Driver and it did the 1/4 mile in 12.5 @ 117. That's the same exact ET and trap speed the 2016 model did, so I don't think the newer car is any more powerful.
Damn. When caranddriver tested the 10 speed auto gt, they clocked 3.8 s to 0-60 and 12.1 quarter mile time with 120 mph trap speed. The manual gt is also way too close to GT350 in straight line performance.

How does a GTPP2 without overheating stacks up against the 2019 GT350 around a road coarse?

According to c&d GTPP2 holds 1.06 g vs upgraded 1.09 g of 2019 GT350 on skidpad. The braking is 147 ft for the PP2 but 150 ft for the GT350. Early versions of the GT350 was only able to hold 1.03 gā€™s on the skidpad.

Looks like Ford did up the game on the GT350 to at least put it above a PP2 equipped mustang in the handling department. The car also has proper coolers to back it up.

Now that there is just one guy or gal that builds the engine on these things they can perform the little engine assembly tricks on them and make more power!! Aawwww the wonders of hand built motors!!

Rolled over 1k miles today, so I am ready to schedule the dyno.

Should I get the first oil change before or after the dyno? I know both is the safest, but that's unlikely unless someone can give me a seriously good reason (due to cost for what seems like overkill). If it matters, I drove fairly spirited for street use after the first 300 miles. I def didnt baby it like I see some folks say they're doing (no hate, just comparing approaches).
On the oil change, don't worry about a couple of dyno runs. If you were going to change the oil at 1,000 miles, then do it before the dyno, but if you weren't, then don't bother until you reach the point where you would have done it anyway.

Found this and it hasnā€™t been posted yet but motor trend had a 2019 gt350 exact same spec as mine currently and it put down 495hp to the wheels consistently

It Makes How Much? We Dyno the 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350
Voodoo V-8 spins some impressive numbers

In the 2019 GT350 and GT350R, the Voodoo is rated at 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque at the crank. We decided to take the GT350 from our Best Driver's Car competition and strap it to a dyno to find out how much power it's making at the wheels. Drivetrain losses are exceedingly difficult to measure but we'll estimate a 15-percent loss between what the engine is producing at the crank and how much power makes it to the road. Based on Ford's numbers, we should be expecting a dyno readout of 447 hp and 366 lb-ft of torque at the wheels.

Last time we measured a GT350 on a dyno in 2015, it put down a very healthy 467 wheel horsepower. This one is even stronger. Here's what the dyno tells us: an average of 494 hp and 382 lb-ft at the wheels over three separate runs in fourth gear. Accounting for the drivetrain loss, our results translate to 581 horses and 449 lb-ft at the crank from the Voodoo V-8; that's 55 hp and 20 extra lb-ft more than its ratings from Ford.

The dyno chart, which graphs power and torque against engine speed, shows a big spike in torque for the Mustang around 3,300 rpm. That's when this engine comes aliveā€”much later in the rev range than most turbocharged engines and larger-displacement V-8s. Torque remains near its peak at 382 lb-ft between 3,300 and 6,000 rpm, at which point it begins to drop off. The power curve is relatively linear. Peak power doesn't arrive until the Voodoo is approaching its sky-high 8,250-rpm fuel cutoff.

If our tester is any indication, you not only get one of the best-sounding engines in the business with the 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350, you also get more power than advertised.
I don't own a GT350, however when the GT350 was first released there was an article on the engine that discussed a valve "overlift" condition. Overlift would only occur only if there was enough airflow into the engine and (possibly) above a specific speed, if I recall that speed was 125 mph. I forget where I read it possibly Ward's best engines or Popular Mechanics. It seems to me this overlift is what you are observing and the '16 cars also have this programming. I watch the IMSA series and recall when Ford was still fielding the FPC 5.2 in the series, drivers like Billy Johnson and Scott Maxwell seemed to be able to make that car fly while other drivers simply weren't. From a slightly informed observer's POV it occurred to me Billy and Scott were able to consistently get the car invoke overlift and when they did there was nothing on the track that could keep up with them.

What needs to happen is to test the 19 and an earlier model at the same dunk on the same day.

Could there be a ram air effect? Possibly. Could the cooler air allow more power? Sure.

55 hp worth? Idk.

So it would be great to see side by side dyno tests.

And Iā€™d bet the 19 makes a decent chunk more power.

So waiting for a '19 was the right move, huh? I guess I mean saving for the '19.
Yeah, any way you slice it, it's bad ass.
