It's really annoying, but supposedly no harm. And no, nobody knows for sure what it is. I'm sure Ford knows, but it's not telling. It's worse when cold, but at least on my car, still annoyingly loud even when fully hot. But with exhaust on normal or higher you hardly hear it. And with the stereo on, zero. So not a huge deal, but wish it wasn't there. Just hope it's not detrimental.

Thanks for that. I appreciate the advice. I will take the car to the dealer to have it documented. Ironically it doesn't make the noise all of the time. I am happy if found this forum.

Check the trans spacer plate, it’s a common issue across the S550 and F150 platform:

Also check the emergency brake cable and attaching assembly found under the driver side trans tunnel. This has been a known source of metallic rattle as well and is hard to replicate unless in a certain RPM range. The cable is loose and raps against the trans tunnel under certain conditions OR could be touching exhaust mid pipe. How to adjust the cable and assembly:

Is there a fix that you know of? Will this hurt the car? Thanks
Willful ignorance and loud music. Deafness too.

Nahhh - it's nothing to worry about.
