Just sharing - have the pleasure of driving a ‘19 F150 Platinum for a few days. It’s a 4x4 with the 3.5 EB and 10 speed trans.
I freaking love this truck. The tech in the platinum package is awesome (heated/cooled MASSAGING SEATS?! WTF?!), rides great but MAN that is a sweet drivetrain.
The 3.5 makes some great power and the torque is incredible... power is available everywhere and driving in sport mode is fairly responsive to downshifts and holding gears if your on and off the gas.
The turbos spool fairly quick once you call on them and it just makes a great noise. It sounds more V8 than anything, which is weird. Not sure if there’s fake sound induction but somewhere between the intake setup and exhaust it’s just very deep and throaty.
It’s obviously not Mustang fast but it’s definitely responsive and I’m sure quicker than most of the competitions offerings,
if not all short of a performance specific offering.
The last truck I drove was a ‘19 Ram Rebel with the HEMI/8 speed. Felt really nice and refined. I will say the ride quality in the Ram with coils out back was smoother. However it doesn’t compare acceleration wise.
Anyone own one? How do you like it?
