and Comp claimed they tested the stock springs for resonance up to 8300 RPM? None of their public documentation says anything about what they are certified up to. Failing that it's perfectly reasonable to assume over 7500 RPM is going to be increasingly problematic. Maybe everything is fine to 8000 and the 500 RPM is more than adequate engineering reserve. Do YOU know? Does Comp?
I’m learning very well what type of guy you are here. It’s going to be a never ending battle with you. Just mod your car and enjoy as I do.

Some fuck face? Mark is the guy behind the article and does many videos for them.
try reading what I wrote. I was referring to that cesspool known as facebook. Not to Mark. And how come the error hasn't been rectified in his now very old article?

One guy spent his money and is fine with the setup and associated risk. Another guy hasn't put any money into the motor and is not happy with the setup and associated risk.

I'm a simple kind of Mustang owner and even I can find the logical winner in this conversation.

I was starting to believe that shogun had money in this build

I was asking for actual engineering justification. Not guesses and "hope/luck".

@Slamdcoop0428 Intrested in what it does at the quarter mile I have been contemplating getting these cams. I have a intake/exhaust/e85 19 gt and planned on going to bradenton here soon if you want to meet up for some friendly runs.

Way I look at things, @shogun32 has said his peace and let it go. @Slamdcoop0428 has said he isn't worried. Even if he is wrong, it will be his paperweight to fix. Though @Slamdcoop0428 I would recommend calm. I know the internet is the worst when it comes to interpretation. Whether an article was miswritten, a website is wrong, or even someone questioning something, in the end its your car and you are happy with it. Leave it at that.

On a more on track note, I'm also wanting to see how this performs. That flat spot up top seems perfect for the 10R80 and its close gear ratios. Once it gets there, I bet it keep you pushed inside your seat until you let off. I don't drag race but it is hard to ignore how this graph worked out. 6500 to around 7800 is just awesome.

Edit: I just did a gear drop calculation. At 7800 gear shift, 2nd will drop you down pretty far as will 3rd. But by the time you get to 4th, you will stay in the sweet spot all the way to 6th gear. Couldn't calculate past 6th gear but by the time you get to 7800 in 6th, you should be doing around 156mph.

Did yo accomodate for converter slip? Most online calculators don't account for slip, which from what I'm told should be 6-7%

No sir. Though this is real world that I don't really pay attention to though I really should. Do aftermarket converters slip as much? Is this a friction material issue or inherit problem with the converter?

I'm no converter specialist but yes I've been told 6-7% is what they want, the setup will ultimately determine what the builder sets it to. I don't think its a friction material issue more as how they position the vanes in the converter itself to get the desired rpm.

For sure man. I just ordered some BMR springs and new front tires for the car. Everything should be here Monday or Tuesday next week. Planning on hitting Bradenton on the 16th or 20th.

and Comp claimed they tested the stock springs for resonance up to 8300 RPM? None of their public documentation says anything about what the factory SPRINGS are certified up to. Just because the lobe centers work up to 7900 RPM is not the same ting. But if we were to take a leap of logic that says the cam is rated to 7900 rpm and since "no springs required" that the springs magically are good to 7900, what's the engineering proof that exceeding that number is expected to under XX% probability of failure?

Maybe everything is fine to 8000 and the another 300 RPM is more than adequate engineering reserve. Do YOU know? Does Comp?

We can jump into the ol' WayBack Machine and get some thinking from the Ford Valve-train Engineering of the Boss engine program ... Wow time is flying by ...

As always YMMV ...
