Great point to bring up! I like to include all fees in my final price.
Yep, for your $32k or less goal "out the door" you need to do that. But if some guy says he got the same car for less than $32K "out the door" because he paid half the sales tax then it's not an apples-to-apples comparison.

Okay gotcha! I see what you are saying. Hopefully I can get a good deal on a 2019 this summer because I really dont wanna settle for a 2018.

You should be able to if dealers have some left over 2019s they want to get off the lot before the 2020 models start coming out. Good luck ... keep looking and go for it when it feels right.

I bought my 18 GT in August- when the rebates were the highest. I found mine on Autotrader- the lowest priced one in the area was fortunately at the dealer right in town only a few miles from me. I tired to get them down further on the price but they would not budge from the price on Autotrader. They actually had it priced with all the rebates and I did not qualify for the military discount so I had to pay $500 more. But I still got it for a little over 30K.

That seems like a good deal! How much more do you think you could've got off? Does you car have the tick? I'm not super worried. However, I'm paranoid but I'll take the risk and if it falls on my face then I will take the loss and buy from somewhere else. But I hope that never happens!
I think likely I could have gotten another 1,000 off if I had taken their financing. Mine has no tick, I do hear the 2k rattle, usually when it is cold under light acceleration.

You might be right! I'm in ohio so my tax is 6.75%. I'm hoping I can get a good deal. I can go higher but 32000 is what I want. We shall see though!
6.75% tax is pretty good. In my town it's 11%. (in Crook County IL) Luckily I got $17,500 in trade for my 2013 F150 RCSB STX that was $24K new. Didn't lose much there, and was taxed on less than $20K, as I paid $37K for mine plus TTL.

I'd only take financing through a dealership if the deal was super good. However, I'd rather use a credit union. If they give a deal where I cant resist then hell yeah I'll do it! I haven't seen a lot of 2k rattles. That seems like a bigger issue than the bbq tick =/. How long g has it been going on in your case? After it warms up does it go away?

Mine is a 301A, non PP car. It has about $7,000 in options.

Nope. The highest sales tax rate on cars in Illinois is 9.5% (for Chicago city residents). It’s 8.25% if you’re in suburban Cook County, or 7.25% for the rest of the state.

We don't pay the full 11% for cars, but we do have an 11% tax rate. I should know, I have a retail store and that is what we charge.

Always take the dealer financing if the rebates are huge. I took it to get $8K off MSRP. They gave me a 5.49% rate which I re-financed through my credit union 3 weeks later @ 3.49% once I got Ford's first bill.
