What rpm are you planning to turn the engine to?
That's a really great question. I believe the engine will tell Rob where it's happy/ safe(ish). I'd guess 7600 - 8100.

Alright it's time to have some fun.

Dyno is Tuesday morning. My updated mod list is on the previous page. Before I swapped the crank pulley from the 8" to the 7.65" I was seeing 32.7 psi at peak with 21 degrees of timing. I will see less boost due to the smaller crank pulley, no idea how much though.

What will it make on the dyno? Dyno is a Dynocom 7500.
  • Guaranteed to blow up?
  • 700 - 800?
  • 800 - 900?
  • 900 - 1000?
  • 1000 - 1050?
  • 1050 - 1100?
Bonus points for whoever enters the nearest exact power level.

Give it a go, what do you think?
So how much boost ?

We finna find out!

Prep for dyno complete:

Oil change, once over the engine bay, burn out in the street in front of the house, hour long variable speed drive with a couple pulls with traction control on, emptied the catch can, swapped the sticky tires over to stockers for the rollers, and loaded the truck with gear.

Ok
STD or SAE ?

What gear will you be making pulls ?

What rear end again ?

With a 3.31 I was hitting the speed limiter at 7300 rpm.
It will show less power if you dyno in 6th .

If you can pull all the way to 8000 rpm then I say 1003/764— SAE

I'll post both the SAE (real) and STD (internet glory). 3.15 rear end. 7th gear pulls. ~180 mph I believe. Dyno max is 225.

You are an expert in the engine building space, no doubt. I'll take all the help that folks are willing to provide.

950 if you turn 7500
1100 If you turn 8000
Eitherway I think the trans is gonna say fuck you and not let you get to either. But I’m hoping for the best for you and good luck, looking forward to hearing the results.

I look at having spares as “Community service”.

If a member is in need of a “spare” real quick (and I am not using it ) and don’t want the down time to build theirs , I will consider take theirs , assuming it’s rebuildable ... plus some cash of course . Lol

In 7th, If you don’t raise the speed limiter(180mph ) you will hit it at 7000 rpm /with a 27.4 inch tire and 3.15 gears.
I hit mine with the 3.31 @7300 .

I didn't have any speed limiter issues last year on the dyno. 7300rpm in 7th with the same tire I'm going to run this time. Maybe Rob already did the appropriate tuning changes?
