Alright, alright. Work is over.

So it was a great day of fun, but a very disappointing day for outcomes. I mean I can't be too upset, throwing 1000+whp at a 100% factory 10r80 was bound to end in burned up clutches and that's exactly what happened... on the first pass.

Car ran a 10.0 pass at 151 mph right off the trailer. The transmission was slipping and hanging up not shifting. I knew right away the car wouldn't put the power down the rest of the day. I either needed to hang it up and leave, or send it and see what happens. Naturally, I sent it.

Pass 2 was a 9.8 at 157.8 mph. The car slipped the trans for the first few hundred feet and then it came on like a rocket. The trans locked up and shifted, but the front half slipping just killed the e.t. I mean a 157 trap speed is good for a great 8 second pass.

After my two shit passes I entered index racing (9.50 - 10) so I could get more passes in. Round 1 came and the car stuck on the 3-4 shift and just pegged 8k. It wouldn't shift. Ran a 9.9 at 139mph but won the round due to opponent red lighting.

Round 2 came up and I knew the car wasn't going to e.t. I needed to cut a light. I managed to red light like a putz. Car ran it's fastest e.t. of 9.7 at 157 mph.

After reviewing logs, Rob confirmed the transmission slipping and recommended clutches. I'm just not sure I want to build the 10r80. I am still thinking th400 swap. This winter will be interesting! Stay tuned.

Quick (and crappy) video:

Great MPH, and for sure still a significant milestone. Bummer about the transmission for sure. Thanks for the update!

You knew going in the stock stuff was going to break at that power level. Trap speeds are legit. So you got that going for you going into next year.

Wow, great mph! I'm sure it will really pick up with the turbo 400!

The th400 swap is underway. Purchased some parts to start the process. Working on swapping the car off of e85 to 93 octane for the winter. We had 6-8 inches of snow yesterday here in MN. Going to be a shitty winter.... Stay tuned for pics.

Soon to be for sale:
- 10r80 transmission, could used clutches if you want to run 1000+whp thru it
- 10r80 factory converter
- DSS 10r80 chromoly driveshaft
- Stifflers driveshaft loop
- 10r80 2018+ diff flange
- 2018+ starter
- 10r80 flex plate
- 2018+ factory 10r80 shifter assembly

Started off with the JPC th400 trans mount with incorporated driveshaft loop and a shifter mount with Hurst shifter.

I've been talking with BTE on a black friday "deal" for an SFI case th400 trans... counting down the days.

Switched the car back over to 93 octane and parked it in the garage for the long haul. I'll be swapping out the drag wheels and tires..and start on pulling the 10r80 out.

I decided to run an ATI flexplate setup. I reviewed JW and JPC as well before making a decision. Ordered an ATI flexplate, crank sleeve adapter, and bolt kit. Picked up ARP converter bolts as well to spec the tolerance in the flexplate for the bolt diameter.

Will be closely following . I may be following in your foot steps as I am thinking of swapping the Magnum XL in one of my cars for a TH400... not quite ready to swap the 10r80 in my 18 ... looking into collecting “spare“ 10r80’s instead and adding extra clutches .
Hell ,since I also have a couple of ”spare “ Gen 3 coyotes I may swap one with the 10r80 /TT (have spare turbos too ! ) for the Gen2 (5.2) /Magnum/KB .

Get whole new car / same body . Lol

is there a reason you did not get the complete “swap kit “ from JPC ?

Comes with gear that you don't need and misses stuff you do. I am also finding better pricing and better product by building my own.

Cross member and driveshaft loop. You will notice the finish was peeling when I received it. JPC has stated they'll send me a replacement:

Still waiting on the invoice from Beefcake on the DSS driveshaft. Hoping to get it tomorrow. DSS said they're 8-10 weeks out. I want to ensure I can mock everything up as I go.
