Going fast is expensive no matter which platform you choose. This was my 25.5 notch. 427sbf with a blow-thru carb, powerglide, 8.8 rear. Went 8.17@172 on 19 lbs of boost. I spun a rod bearing, got frustrated, and parted the whole car out. I wish I would have kept it.

The wife and I have been able to take the mustang on a cruise both days this weekend. I've been working long hours through the week and then weekend coverage. Found a gap in work and the weather was nice...made a beer run

• The dogs are scheduled to go to the kennel
• The 7'x18' open car trailer is rented
• The weekend logs have been reviewed and two tuning files have been provided by Rob Shoemaker. One is titled "2nd gear"
• Race gas is on hand

Sure hope the track doesn't give me grief over no NHRA license and no engine diaper. I'd like to make a few passes. I have a bet to win. 20% chance of rain as well...

Got some simple track prep done tonight:

• Oil is fresh and good
• Catch can is empty
• I pulled the MSD ignition harness for now, it hasn't given me any grief, but I'll be foot braking
• Tune is loaded on the car
• Vacuumed the car out
• Wiped down the panels
• Washed and dried the car
• Cleaned up under the hood
• Tire pressure checked
• Co2 is full
• Parachute test was successful
• Direct wired the full pumps, bypassed the hobbs switch
