Parachute installation:

Clamp plate to the mount and measure for center:

Once center, mark your holes:

Drill holes:

Test fit the plate to ensure holes are lining up:

Use plate as template to drill the parachute bag:

Bolt plate through bag to the mount:

Put d-bag in the parachute bag:

parachuteinstall8.jpg

Get ready to push the pilot chute in:

parachuteinstall9.jpg

Tie up the bag using loop and string, hold loop with parachute release cable:

parachuteinstall10.jpg

Pull out bridle strap to appropriate length:

parachuteinstall11.jpg

Bolt the bridle strap to mount:

Admire the tag:

Step back and admire the whole setup. Final step is to cut the parachute release cable to appropriate length. Should only come through the loop by about 1". I still need to do that. Don't forget to also pull out the string:

Oh man I thought you were doing air launched chute instead of spring launched since your doing air handle. Spring packing chute is annoying. Especially strouds spring pilot instead of spring launcher. the pilot bag and spring bounces and clangs around dragging the ground when you slow down and beats it up. On top of doing the string jive twice.

That would require a completely different parachute mount setup and would need tied into the back of the car to accommodate the air ram. I'm not ready for that this point.

Wife help me procure a charged co2 tank so that I could attend a team event at work but also get some testing done.

Are you getting the bottle filled, or filling it yourself from a bigger mother bottle?

I have two bottles now. I bought a filled bottle out right for speed to market. I have an empty bottle I will fill. Once one bottle is empty I can do a bottle swap like propane for a filled bottle, it's $15 - $20.

Going to trim up the parachute release cable soon. I've read online but would love additional guidance here

The small bottle won't last long, especially if you don't shut it off when not in use. Get a bigger(maybe 10lb) bottle at home, and when the small one gets low refill it yourself.

Liking the progress! keep up the good work.

As far as the BOV, wouldn't it be better to have 1 larger than 2 smaller? Guess either would work the same as long as they operate correctly?

Many folks run two. I don't think it's any more trouble than one, if anything maybe you can call it redundancy.

Here are some pieces that came in the for the head unit install:

Have you had the new blower set up on the dyno yet?
I haven't even had a belt on the procharger yet. Still working out fitment details for the charge piping, etc. Plus there's inches of snow/salt on the ground here in MN. The car likely won't leave the garage until April.

Thoughts on routing an air diverter to the charger intake to get cooler air? Or is close enough to get air coming from grill area? Still going to get some hot air from being behind the radiator I would imagine...
