Ok here's a quick write up on the rear valance install for the Mach 1/GT500. As I mentioned above I was the first to figure this one out and do it as well early last year off of the 500 and since its the same on the Mach 1 I'll ad this to the thread.

So the big reason why everyone thought the wouldn't work on 18+ cars even thought the bumper looked identical was because the GT500 had a different part number that the GT bumper. So it was figured by most that it would need the whole complete rear bumper and valance to make it work. What I figured out after looking at ALL Data R&R pics and some exploded parts views and the 500 bumper up close was that the only difference between the 2 is the parking sonar sensors. GT500's don't have sonar and so the bumpers don't have the holes for them. Thats the only difference. Besides that and a the crash support isolator being different everything is identical.

Parts wise here is everything needed for the rear valance ( Levitown has them listed also based of the part numbers I initially gave them when I did this swap and their prices are awesome)

  • KR3Z-17F828-AA - Rear Diffuser
  • KR3Z-6P013-A - Closeout Panel
  • FR3Z-17D943-H - Bracket
  • FR3Z-17D942-G - Bracket
  • (x2) FR3Z-5A242-E - Brackets
  • (x2) W711687-S300 - Clips
  • (x4) W709990-S439 - U-Nuts
  • (x2) W520812-S439 - U-Nuts
  • (x2) W714312-S439 - Bolts
  • (x4) W712977-S439 - Bolts
  • KR3Z-6328371-AA Left Wheel Arch Guard
  • KR3Z-6328370-AA Right Wheel Arch Guard
  • (x4) W714040S300 Arch Clips
  • (x4) W715060S450B Arch Screws
  • (x2) W712977-S439 Exh. Hanger Screws

Install wise its super straight foward. Rear bumper cover will have to be taken off. Heres the All Data for that:

Next the Rear crash support isolator will need to be modified (or if you want to pay $120 for a GT500/ Mach one it will need to be swapped out)

The isolator will need to have these arms cut off flush with the main body if the isolator. If you have a Dremel or reciprocating saw this can be done on the bumper cover without removing completely. It will just need to be unsecured and drooped away from the bumper on the 3 tabs that hold it. You can leave all the wiring in place for the parking sonar /lights etc except for the back up light wiring that runs across one of the arms.

Next the bumper will have to remove the 6 bolts (3 per side) from both sides of the corners of the bumper, then unlatch the clips that hold the valance to the main bumper. (These are a pain IN the ASS!) go slowly and carefully. I take a plastic trim tool and "gently" bend the bumper part of the tab to make them separate easier.

New 500/Mach valance will go on the same way and basically reverse the steps to secure to the bumper. Back up reverse light is the same on the GT so that will need to be swapped over from old bumper and then use the all data bumper instructions to put the bumper back on the car the way you took it off.

Next is the part I get asked about the most on IG and here. Once the bumper is on the car and it tine to install the rear underbelly aero this can get tricky if you don't know what your looking for.

These brackets ( left side of pic) mount to these circled holes below in the body of the car. If you have active exhaust the wiring harness for that will have some wiring clips using these holes. They will need to be removed and put back in and secured to the bracket itself instead. Next, the middle perch will mount a Xmas tree clip to the valance itself BEFORE you mount the underbelly. The the last big hole (far right on pic) will use the bolt to hold up the underbelly itself. The rest of the rear of the underbelly uses bolts and Xmas tree clips to secure.

On the front of the underbelly , the middle exhaust hangers will need to be removed and replace with these. (you don't need to remove any part of your exhaust to remove and replace these) just simply unbolt and remove. I use a little lube to make them slide off and on easier.

They will slide like the stock GT one. The front of the underbelly will hang on that little tab and then its secured with a bolt.

That pretty much it. very simple mod to do even if you're not mechanically inclined if you just follow the instructions and take you time.

Do you have a write up on the 500 rear and belly pan. I have all the parts just haven’t done it yet.
See above for write up I just did.

It looks good. I have the kit from Levittown just sitting in my living room since April. I made them send me mud flaps because it didn’t have them and they did free of charge. But I haven’t put it on yet because I feel like the corsa Xtreme which I also have with 4in tips won’t look right. And might be awkward. Can you post other angles of the rear because It looks like there’s a huge gap.

Hard to tell from these pics too but I can tell you honestly the regular Corsa tips look completely normal in here. The design of the valance itself really shrouds the opening of it to make both look normal. Def 5 inch would look awesome but I definitley wouldn't hold installing it because of the exhaust tips.

is there a specific reason for the cribbing?

I just finished up a full increase clutch count build on my 10R80 so the car was on crib blocks for awhile to get the trans out of the car while I tore it down to build it and put back in.

Gotcha. I may build some cribbing for mine, but to put under the jack rails in the winter so I can remove the wheels, at least until I can get things insulated and semi-climate controlled.

Yep thats a great idea. Anytime i'm working on my car and don't have to get it super high off the ground the car its on the crib jacks under the Jacking rails. Works awesome and super safe.

Been following this one on your IG, Eric.

GREAT writeup and work. The fact that you were willing to be the first into this journey and still gather so much information for others that wasn't necessarily applicable to you is tremendous.

I think it’s been determined that only the mach1 grill will fit, slightly different shape.
You guys were right. After looking at this before/after pic I had the grill is def different. I didn’t pay that much attention to it when doing the swap and never had the 2 bumpers or grills next to each other to compare. Subtle for sure but different

I have different headlights i put in but exact the same as stock dimension wise. I think it’s just the pic that makes it look different but the bumper area around the headlight is the same
