I'm finding it so hard to get my airbag to pop off. Disconnected the battery and used a 3mm, 4mm allen key to push the spring but no matter how hard i try the airbag doesn't pop out. Any ideas?

It took me quite a few times. Wasn’t the easiest to do. Kept slipping off. While pushing it in you have to pull bag towards ya. Once ya get one side it isn’t as bad. Springs are stiff though

Yeah it's a total PITA. It helps to press the spring in and push the airbag in and out to try and work it out.

I also found it much easier on my hands and fingers to use a flathead screwdriver than a little allen key. As long as it fits in the hole you're good.

The picture was before I picked it up, paddles didn’t come with it. He started to do the swap and decided he wanted a carbon fiber wheel.
I’ll be doing the swap once I pick up digital cluster to do at same time.

Finally got that steering wheel where it supposed to be!
Process took me around an hour or so as I was keen to replace the button frame to match the ROUSH dash color. The normal frames came with the car were a lot silversh and the GT350 were kinda light Golden and matched pretty well.
Difficulty : I would say 4.5 out of 10. tho, the hardest part was taking off that Air bag unit.
Problems / issues : After swapping the whole buttons set! I noticed few things when I wanted to change the ambient color especially the
RED color which went dead showing nothing on the doors knobs or on the foot mats area! I think the Gray turned Green or stuff like that but I am not a big fan of changing those modes. Anyways, I had to give up the heating unit and I believe something went wrong with the configuration after swapping! and that what make some colors changes or disappear.
Bottom line, I am satisfied with the outcome and big thanks to
Bangahhh for his advice on how to order that part.

No problem! The GT350R steering wheel is the best $500 I’ve spent on my car!

Installed the 350R wheel few weeks back. The airbag removal was a royal PITA. I almost gave up but got lucky and happened to come across a colleague who works on steering modules - he gave me a tool which made it a breeze. Once the airbag was removed, it was so easy. As mentioned in multiple videos, I tried with 3mm and 4mm Allen key but didn't work. FYI if anyone has trouble, a tool like this would work best

I purchased it at 449. It looks great and matches my Showstopper Red interior perfectly and also love the darker trim around the buttons. But i feel it isn't worth the price, i was disappointed with the quality. The red stitching peeling off in few places, leather (lower bottom) damaged in few spots. Noticed these defects just after few days of use.

Theoretically, If you take the wiring harness from your stock steering wheel off and put it in a 2016 GT350 steering, wouldn't that allow you to use a 2016 model GT350 or SVE X550 steering wheel on a 19 mustang since you're reusing all the stock wiring?

No, you still need the 2019 airbag.

Right, the airbag you take from your stock steering wheel on your 19 and put it in the 16 GT350 steering wheel like you would normally.

I say that becuase I had a 16 EB and recently traded to a 19 GT and was told my 16 GT350 steering wheel wouldn't work on the 19 because of the airbag clips. But if you swap all of the wiring harnesses from the 19 stock wheel then it shouldn't matter. Just like non Ford steering wheel swaps like SVE X550 or SoCal Garage works wheel

I would not feel comfortable modifying or putting an different air bag assembly. Even if it plugs in, it might not be compatible. This could possibly cause it to inflate for no reason or not inflate when needed. To me it's not worth it.
