2018 mani on 15-17 and smog

just wanted to share since i had not found any info before. i went to a 18 mani on my 17. i was concerned about being able to pass smog so i was going to keep the imrc active just in case. long story short i ended up deleting imrc and getting my retune. just wanted to pass along after a few days of driving all my emissions monitors are in the "ready" state and should have no issue passing obd scan style smog. on paper it makes sense since its an oem manifold but no one had posted the info from what i can see so here you go.

i used to have an emissions tune that i tried without much success. this is on my standard daily tune.

You’re correct but no one could tell me if it would or wouldn’t affect emission monitoring readiness states so I took the plunge hoping it would work fine and just wanted to share my experience.

Yeah you have nothing to worry about, since the 18 manifold is a OEM piece, there isn't much in the tune that is done to make it work on the 15-17s so it should in theory pass emissions just the same with, or without the IMRC.

This all depends on your state because any state that has adopted California smog then you will fail. Imrc’s are not needed but the 18 manifold is only legal for car it was designed for. Any other manifold that does not have a E.O.number that matches your car will fail. The tune will fail. Now this depends on the state and how much they check. In California you fail
