I know the 2018+ hood vents have drain trays to collect the water and drain it in certain positions etc.
The drains work in light rain, but if they are flooded with car washing or monsoon type conditions, they back up and empty the excess water between the hood skins which will then collect around the bottom / front edges.
Has anyone else noticed this ?
Here is the entrance point once the vent backs up - the gap between the upper and lower skins :
Given time the water dries with engine heat, but what about in winter or a wash and store situation … ?
This is what gets trapped in there after a bottom half hood wash and good rinse (it was dry beforehand) :
What’s people’s thoughts on long term issues with this ? Could this contribute to the hood corrosion issues ?
