Hi, first off thanks for having me on the forum. I found it with a google search and came up with a real nice thread on doing a flex fuel sensor to monitor ethanol content in pump "e85". I have the parts for that on the way currently.

I have a stick 19 GT that I'm going the bolt on route with. Currently have an air intake, lund e85r tune, catback and a few steeda suspension upgrades. I had wrote off the thottle body upgrade initially because I looked at BBK and its so crazy pricey and it seems to be prone to issues. I recently came across the GT350 throttle body and figured that might be worth looking at.

After looking around a little I found there are two Ford options out there:

https://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-pe..._7uEJmcfPIdzNjHRnjNHFjWJS4FoGlVLifqYsdWyB7sPw

The bullet TB

https://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-pe...KvlPld8_yP1Jg5lyqu2ZyFwNSk79EKgZWtjZbTo2K2gSg

and then the gt350.

Both are 87mm and are made to work with the gt350 mani so at first look I dont see any difference on them although there is a price difference. Both require an adapter to run on the 18+ mani...if I am correct, (Im hoping someone can verify this) the difference is the 18+ Mustang uses a different type of signal on the throttle body and the GT350 TB would require a converter and my thinking is where the bullit TB was made for the bullit which is only 18+ would work without a converter thus the price increase on it.

FYI I have an 18+ ported mani waiting to install and long tubes will go on soon. In case anyone was wondering why I was stressing about a throttle body in the first place.

Who does them? Ive looked around and didnt see anybody offering that. Not a bad idea, although the bullit TB isnt much more.

Update: I didn't see your last sentence about the ported IM and LTHs. If you are having the car tuned, you could just go with the Bullitt TB w/ adapter. Although, a ported '18 TB will probably flow as much as a non-ported Bullitt TB (just an educated guess).

If you decide to go w/ the Bullitt TB, Summitracing has it for less $: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fms-m-9926-m50b

I was seriously considering going with the 87 mm Bullitt TB (not the GT350 TB due to differences w/ the electronics) with a GT350 intake manifold. However, after weighing the pros and cons and costs, I decided to send both of my 2018 OEM TB and IM to Bret Barber at Airflow solutions to port. Cost is $410. Same gains for around 1/3 the cost since the GT350 IM is pretty expensive. Plus, switching to the Bullitt TB requires a tune, whereas simply porting the stock TM and IM doesn't require a tune, since the TB operation and diameter remains the same.

Also, I could get away with taking the OEM parts off the car and sending since I am working from home during Coronavirus. Bret is currently running like a 2 week turn-around time. If I was commuting daily, I would instead have purchased a new ported '18 TB and IM from Airflow solutions then sold off my stock OEM parts. It would have cost a bit more, but not having a running car wouldn't have been feasible.

I am already Lund tuned, so if I'm looking at this correctly I think all I would need to do is get the TB and adapter and have Lund do a revision which they don't charge much for... seems like half the time they come up with a reason to not charge.

I know small stuff wont produce any crazy power gains, but a few things on top of another add up.... and I think to take advantage of the ported mani you need the TB. Id ultimately like to see how far I can push the bolt on setup without getting into suspension that hurts ride and handling and without doing crazy weight reduction. I honestly feel like a 10.99 is possible with these.

On 18+ assuming with drive modes, LTH, e85 tune, good rubber out back and minor weight reductions it's pretty close in the right conditions.

Edit: oops missed the part of a manual. Would definitely take a bit more then.

Check out Gig’s Performance Engineering on their website or ebay. I have been running Joe’s 88mm on my 18 for over 4000 miles. Throttle response on E85 is very peppy!

To be fair throttle on e in general is amazingly responsive :)
I have my tuner make the “tip in” in the tune like stock. I hate when tuners crank that up and make a touchy throttle pedal. It was perfect with just the E85 tuning, but the ported tb made it a little too responsive than I personally like. Makes launching the car hard on a street tire imo. Runs like scalded cat though...

Will my JLT intake fit if I go with the Bullitt throttle body?

I assume so... I cant see why it wouldnt, but Im going to find out soon lol.
Did you end up confirming if an adapater was needed? Additionally was also wondering if the JLT was compatible or if you would need a GT350 JLT CAI or Coupler.
